that post about the dad who calls periods where you’re not creating/doing “dreaming periods”, except to me right now it’s about being pre medical transition. It’s not hell to wait to be on T and then wait for the changes to occur. These months are my dreaming period, I’m thinking of all the ways I will create myself when I have the resources to. I’m dreaming about how I will move into my masculinity in a healthy way. I’m dreaming of what kind of boy I will be, and what kind of man I’ll become. I’m dreaming of my joy when my voice will deepen. I’m dreaming of my 18th birthday next spring, and my graduation too, where I will be able to come of age in a body that I created. And that comment thread where someone said something like “that’ll take forever”, and the original poster responded. “the time will pass anyways.” yeah. I know two things to be true about myself pre-transition: I am content to be dreaming for a couple months longer, and the time will pass anyways.
