Meet Guest of Honor: AVALON GLIDE SUTHERLAND Avalon is a professional Irish Dancer born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. She began dancing for the McClanahan School of Irish Dance at eight years old. She continued her education at Sullivan University and graduated at the top of her class in 2010 with an Associate of Science in Baking and Pastry Arts. Currently, she works full time as a pastry chef and often does wedding cakes from home. Also in 2010, she retired her competitive dancing career after participating at the World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. With experience in Irish Dance for over 17 years, 13 of which were spent attending multiple competitions across the Mid-West in addition to annual regional and national competitions. Professional show dancing began for Avalon as a cast member of "Take the Floor" where she toured Ireland. She was then selected by the largest entertainment agency within China to tour the majority of it provinces as a dancer in "Flames of the Dance": Triskilian Tour.
