GET RID OF BACK PAIN! [by opening up your thoracic spine] . We talked about strengthening your Hip Hinge in order to prevent low back pain last week. This week this video is designed to INCREASE MOBILITY in your thoracic spine in order to help ease pressure off your lower back . There is very little rotation in the lumbar spine, so when your t-spine is stiff and can't rotate, transverse forces end up going through your low back, and end up causing too much lumbar rotation 👎🏼 . I've created this easy routine for you guys to increase mobility through your spine . 1️⃣Thoracic Swings (left spiral line) 2️⃣Thoracic Rotation Swings (right rotation) 3️⃣Thoracic flex/rot (right side) 4️⃣Thoracic ext/rot (right side) . 8-12 reps 3 sets Hold 1-2 secs at the top (I did them slightly faster for IG video length) 👉🏼remember to do BOTH sides! . TOP 5 TIPS TO RECOVER FROM TRAVEL - 👉Did you travel this holiday season?! If you did, my boy @dr.jacob.harden has got you covered! - So 2 🛫flights and 10 🚘car rides in 36 hours had my back feeling a little beat up today. Couple that with more eating out and less water than normal and I wasn't feeling quite at 100% coming into today's workout. This is normal for any travel, but there are a few things I do to get back on track. . 1. Go to bed an hour early. Just getting a little extra sleep (Half hour in my case. You'll see why.) goes a long way to getting you feeling good. . 2. Get up 30 minutes early. Travelling tends to leave things on the backburner or piled up. So I get up and start early to knock some of that out, which in turn helps to manage my stress levels throughout the day. . 3. Get rehydrated. Hydration can affect mood, performance, energy, hunger, and more. Get it in check. . 4. Up my protein. Eating out makes it hard to get all the protein you really need so I do my best while I'm away and then make up a little bit of the debt once I'm back. . 5. Get moving. I always try to get a workout in the next day just to move. If things are feeling beat up, like my back was, I do some extra recovery work for it, and I modify training volume, intensity, and exercise selection so that it becomes more restorative than degrading. .
