Sometimes things that sound good may not be good at all. In this case it's regarding Jay-Z making a sizeable investment into a startup company called: (Promise). This company assists state and local governments to track parolees via GPS monitoring technology... Promise is a 'decarceration' startup that was created by Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins and Diana Frappier to tackle the issue of mass incarceration. Some feel this is not a good thing to assist this nation in controling and monitoring our people. Others may see this as a helper for those whom can't get bail money together for release. The facts is.. βPromise doesnβt raise funds to bail detainees out of jail. Instead, Promise is a technology/software design company that sells apps that help government agencies track people who are released from jail under the First Step Act.β
