in book 3, their first official date involves farah setting up a movie night for them! she goes all out with a big selection of movies for river to choose from (and ofc they pick horror, to farah’s dismay lol), and junky snacks like pizza and popcorn that farah’s vampire tastes find to be Too Much when she tries it lol.
BUT
I’ve also been thinking about river taking farah to a drive-in theater to experience the novelty of it, and it’s still an intimate, just them sort of date, but the fun of Going Out and being silly through a movie together. they probably spend half the time making comments about the movie or sneaking kisses between snacks and holding hands, too.

what really gets me in this twc replay is that river wants someone to stay with them instead of leaving them behind, while farah wants someone to choose her instead of balking at her feelings, and not only do they find that together, but they also reassure those insecurities in each other so gently too
