I’m having a difficult time believing Finn is just your average Stormtrooper, from a galaxy, far, far away. Here’s why:

Check out Finn’s stance. 

There’s a lot of control in his body movements. It’s clean. Precise! Here, with the Stormtrooper, he’s set up for an ideal attack. His feet and shoulders are a little more than a width apart, when he cuts and thrusts the lightsaber from his right shoulder. It starts off as a one-handed move, before he swings the lightsaber overhead to direct a two-handed, plunging strike against TR8-T0R’s force-field (which I think is an extension of his blaster). The move was meant to knock the opponent off-balance. It fails to deliver the final result, but the execution was a work of art. 

In this example, Keylo Ren takes a full swing at Finn’s neck before spinning the lightsaber a full 360 degree angle, delivering a direct, overhead cut. Finn dodges the strike by a few millimeters (you could see the light reflected on his skin as the lightsaber catches air). As a result, Finn lowers the lightsaber for a second before pivoting his hip to take a defensive stance against an overhead attack. His body mechanics are near perfect. 

Stormtroopers are not usually that flexible or precise in movement. Seeing as Finn was out of commission, as a sanitation worker and had little experience with combat in the field, it’s a little odd that he can perform relatively well on a must-need basis.

I’m also suspicious of how quickly he adapted to using a TIE figher and Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon. Finn is modeled after Han Solo, complete with all his frailties but he has the aura and skill of a young Jedi. He doesn’t exactly fit the Stormtrooper mold either...so I’m inclined to believe (and I know I’ve said before) but I truly believe he’s force sensitive and that the midichlorians in his body, haven’t awoken his powers yet.
