Eddie wouldn’t be too vocal on his ‘hate’ for you. It's not a hatred it's more like frustration. You would turn up one day out of nowhere and all the men liked and took to you straight away. While he has wouldn’t actively said he dislikes you, he shows it through his actions and interactions with you.

Eddie is always around, and it feels like he is following you. Even when you try avoiding him, he appears. It is harder than you thought it would be, but to be fair he is your lieutenant.  

He rolls his eyes at you rolling your eyes at him, and vice versa. There is never one action without the other. It was almost like ‘I can do what you do but better’

When you ask him a question he always scoffs and tells you to figure it out yourself. No matter how simple or complicated it is, he never gives you a straight answer and it is the most frustrating thing.

But when you do something, he always undoes it and makes you do it again like it's not good enough for him. A couple of times one of the boys would do yours while they were doing their own and after telling them their one was fine; he had a nasty comment about yours. There was no logic to his madness.

Ack Ack tries to help, but it just annoys Eddie more. You even had the Captain twisted around your little finger. He swears you were put on that island to rip him at the seams by the enemy. You just rub him the wrong way and it bothers him.

While doing something, you would check to see if he was looking at you, and if he was, your heart sang. If he wasn’t it was like a mini heartbreak.

You often look back at him and it turns into a staring match. Both being stubborn, neither one of you wanted to be the first to look away. You both love to hate each other

When you really want to press his buttons, you call him ‘Edward’. He calls you by your actual name and not the nickname the boys gave you. Like I said, you were both equally to blame.

You would become inseparable, and he suddenly would realise why the men liked you. He would beat himself up for being so rude and cold towards you, so he makes it up to you by complementing you on literally everything.

Ack Ack would be caught smiling at the both of you. He knows you both like each other, and it was situation of hate to love and to top it off, the only two people who don’t know were you and Eddie.

He likes to watch out for you when walking through the jungle and if he can't physically see you, he internally freaks out. He knows you can take care of yourself; he just likes to make sure.

It would take something like you getting thrown back by an explosion and almost injured for him to finally admit his feeling, not only to you, but to himself as well. He would have to make sure you were okay. He would tell himself that was part of his job as a lieutenant, but it was secretly more than that.

When your eyes catch each other’s, butterflies would be felt in your stomach and if it wasn’t for the dirt that was constantly on your face, you are afraid he would see you blushing.

You spend more time together, if that was even possible. If you weren’t beside him, or within arm’s reach, he feels as if part of him is missing
