SUPER unpopular opinion on tower scene!
ok so when i saw how everybody was saying how they were so excited when he said "friends? no thanks..." and were upset when he said "best friends", i was kind of the other way around.
When i was first seeing it and mike said the first part, i legit thought he was gonna break him off. When i first saw Will's face, i saw it as sad. shocked. i thought will thought he was gonna break him off too. but when he said "best friends" , i was like okok we're good. and since will laughed, i thought he thought the same thing. But keep in mind i wasnt wearing my glasses and i have a VERY straightforward mindset.
Well, anyway, idk if yall remember but before climbing the tower, i SWEAR somebody had said that there were multiple stops to take a break. so what i had in mind was on the 1st step, they would talk it out a bit and leave something where it makes you raise an eyebrow. the second step, same thing but WAY more obvious. and on the third one or whatever they would exchange feelings/kiss. I was SO set on that, but when there was only one stop i was like ???
so basically, i thought the "friends? no thanks. best friends." was just the first break conversation when climbing. can somebody please write a fic or comic where the tower had multiple stops and every one-on-one with them eventually led to a makeout scene on the last stop? thanks. it would make s5 vol 2 me VERY happy.

Will listens, he doesn't get his hopes up.
Mike: I think we are similar — though I don't think you possess my amazing charisma!
Mike nudges him, Will looks down at the contact, laughing.
Mike: Listen— we are about to fight the battle of ours lives, and I need to tell you something before we do-
Robin: Guys come on!
Mike’s head shifts up to Robin, Will follows than they share a look. This time Mike doesn't allow his confession to be interrupted.
Mike grabs Will’s arm. Will is confused.
Mike: In the WSQK, it wasn't true right? You haven't moved on yet, have you? If you have then I'Il let you climb up the ladder.
Will shifts his gaze between Mike's eyes.
Will: No, not really- no.
Mike: Good, I don't want you to.
Will: I just didn't want to lose you.
Mike: You're never going to lose me Will.
Mike: We should go, we'll talk about this later.
A few pauses take place before Mike looks back at Will.
Mike: let's survive...together?
