12. favorite character to write about this year

Oooh this is hard. I obviously love Sirius/Remus, my babies, but I think James jumped pretty high this year for me. The version of him that's in amicus curiae is I think one of the most loving, thoughtful, and considerate depictions of him that I've written, and I really just. Love him.

13. favorite writing song/artist/album of this year

Okay this one really came late in the game, so it might be (read: probably is) recency bias, but I had half of Peter Gabriel's i/o album on repeat for the past month, so that was an ~atmospheric~ one.

Would also note that Florence and the Machine's Dance Fever was up there for me this year.

If I'm entirely honest, my go-to albums are still some of the same ones from 2022, which is to say Maisie Peters' You Signed Up for This, Lizzy McAlpine's Five Seconds Flat, and Phoebe Bridgers' Punisher. Those three specifically are so familiar to me at this point that I can listen to them, be singing along to them even, and be writing simultaneously. I have those ones + a few others (a few others, they say, as if the playlist isn't literally 22 hours long lmao) in a playlist that's just a brain dump of albums that I've been obsessed with at varying points in my life, and that's my usual go-to playlist for if I need to get things done.
