You see, children, long before we had all the known information in the world at our fingertips, we used these goofy looking devices to talk to people in other places. Sometimes it was our neighbors next door. Sometimes it was friends and family in other cities and states. We couldn't see their faces when we talked, we could only listen to the sound of their voice. The only way we could send words to anyone without using our pocket computers was to write it all down on a piece of paper, put it in the mail, and hope that it arrived within a week. Sometimes, weeks later, we'd get a response. Honestly, I stared at this for way longer than I should've. It's been forever since I've seen one of these.
