Fanfik is a Polish movie about Tosiek, a 17 year old who struggles with self harm and mental health struggles untill one day he tries on his new "friend" Leons clothes and realises hes a trans man, and for the first time in his life he feels free.
This movie is so fuckin amazing. Its the only piece of media that ive seen that involves a trans man in a MLM relationship and it made me really happy. The experiences that Tosiek goes though with his father, his friends, with leon. All of it was just so beautiful. I also enjoyed the Fanfik part of it, watching how his irl experiences affect his art is so fun to see. Also the ending made me cry.

When I think about it. I think that they choosed Cinderella for Tosiek's story, because in polish this name is in masculine form. It's Kopciuszek (sz=sh, c=softened ts, similar to ch, because pronuncation is important) and in polish if the name ends with a consonant (mostly) it's masculine
Even in fairy tales we use masculine forms for Kopciuszek, so we say "Kopciuszek was upset, because he couldn't go to a ball", even if it's a girl. Because it's just grammatically correct, if her name is masculine
So I think they would choose her to represent this whole gender duality and feeling wrong in your own body
