Unloading a fresh batch of beautiful Canadian Black Walnut. At 2"+ thick correctly drying the lumber is very important. These have been air drying for over 1 year to bring the moisture content from 80% to under 20% then I load the boards into a sealed insulated chamber with a Nyle l200 low temperature DH kiln to bring the moisture content to an even 8-9%. By air drying & keeping the temperature low in the kiln the beautiful natural colours remain as nature provided them along with stress free workability once we start the work of creating.
