Photographer’s note: Torghatten is a geological formation in Nordland county, Norway. The granite hill rises about 800 feet (250 meters) above sea level, and is known for the hole that runs all the way through it, about halfway up. The hole is believed to have been formed by a combination of erosion and ocean waves thousands of years ago when the sea level was much higher. The hole is approximately 520 feet (160 meters) long, 70 feet (20 meters) wide, and 115 feet (35 meters) high.
