3 weeks LATER, I randomly check my spam folder just to find an email from The official red dwarf club, where they say they loved my audition but perhaps I'm not the right fit for Lister, and if I'd like to audition for Cat? (I knew I should have!)

I know it's probably late, but I still quickly sent them my audition I did for Cat on that day. THEN I notice TWO more emails from TORDFC, where they follow up if I got their email and YESTRDAY they asked if I'm interested I need to send my audition within 24 hours. Guess what, I randomly sent it, like, 24 hours and 10 minutes late. How bizarre?

Day 30: My Favorite Episode Yeah... Terrorform...

Kryten condition is mauve, then magenta, then taupe, then marigold, then heliotrope, then cerise and tangerine... I love the taranshula scout and this scene:

The concept of the psymoon is great for exploring character. And yeah...

But you know... EVERYBODY has the same reaction:

Day 26: An episode featuring Ace Rimmer I really Like Stoke me a Clipper, the Hamster/cougar and the one I’ve chosen seriously lack air crocodile surfing but:

The one and only: Dimension Jump!

With the oringinal Ace - Top Gun - theme.

And the flirting with Lister and making Rimmer jealous

And the incredible chemistry with Mellie (seriously -  the moment their noses almost touch! - how can they wait till lunch?!).

And the original wig! (when I say they have the cutest dynamic!)

I was surprised rewatching the show that Rimmer says “What a Guy!” about his double in Me² and asks Lister to call him Ace in front of the women of the Nova 5.

I don’t know what to think when Ace is about to kick Rimmer’s ass after he made all those homophobic comments. Is that classical 90′s gay panic and he feels insulted? Or is he mad that a version of himself is homophobe??

Jour 26: Un épisode avec Ace Rimmer J’aime beaucoup Stoke me a Clipper, le hamster/cougar et l’épisode que j’ai choisi manque cruellement de surf dans les airs à dos de crocodile, mais: Le seul et unique Dimension Jump! Avec la 1ere version du thème de Ace façon Top Gun.

Et le fait qu’il flirt honteusement avec Lister pour rendre Rimmer jaloux.

Et l’incroyable alchimie avec Mellie! (Sérieusement le moment où leurs nez se touchent presque à 1min53... et vous voulez me faire croire qu’ils attendent jusqu’au déjeuner??)

J’ai été surprise en revoyant la série que Rimmer dise “What a Guy!” en parlant de son double dans Me² et qu’il demande à Lister de l’appeler Ace devant l’équipage féminin du Nova 5.

Je ne sais pas quoi penser quand Ace est sur le point de casser la gueule de Rimmer parce qu’il fait des commentaires homophobes. Est-ce que c’est la classique gay-panique des années 90 et il se sent insulté? Ou bien il est énervé qu’une version de lui puisse être homophobe??

Day 23: An episode featuring Talkie Toaster White Hole

There’s a general under-exploitation of Holly in the show. I really like female Holly. I think she’s great but she appeared as a regular at the same time as Kryten and he became the exposition guy, so they never really knew what to to with her. It’s a shame cause she’s brilliant and I think funnier than male Holly. I hope she’ll come back in the future. Hattie Hayridge is in so many Red Dwarf panels (they have a sweet dynamic with Chris), that seems so unfair that’s she’s never been brought back to the show.

And there’s the pool scene...and Lister... So I know I’m always rambling about Rimmer but... Lister!

Day 10: An episode with a hologram other than Rimmer

Ouroboros: I know that series VII is not a fan favorite but I discovered the show with End of Time, so series VII is the first one I watched entirely and I like it. I could have kept this one for the “an episode that gives you the feels”, the pool table scene and its music give me goosebumps. But I clearly remember seeing alternative hologram Lister and thinking “Oh he’s cute!”. So apparently I already had a thing for men wearing only black clothes when I was 13.

Jour 10: un épisode avec un hologramme autre que Rimmer.

Ouroboros: je sais que la saison 7 est assez dépréciée par les fans mais j’ai découvert la série avec Out of Time donc la saison 7 est la première que j’ai vue en entier et je l’aime bien.

J’aurais pu garder celui ci pour l’épisode qui m’émeut: la scène de la table de billard et sa musique me donnent la chair de poule.

(Late) Day 20: An episode that features a song Well... I already talked about this one but, quite obviously: Parallele Universe and Tongue Tied.

Until I rewatched the show this spring, I would have said that this was my favorite episode. Now it’s a little less fun than I remembered but didn’t thought a lot about sexism on my previous watchings ten and twenty years ago. It is still really relevent and clever and that’s quite a surprise for an episode made in the late 80′s. I have an issue with Arlene and Deb acting a little out of character for Rimmer and Lister. I mean, Arnold definitively think the same way than Arlene, but he wouldn’t act so badly (I guess he would say bold). As for Dave, sure I have no doubt he’s completly irresponsible regarding contraception (”please don’t be ovulating tonight”...), but I don’t buy that he would blame his partner like Deb does. That said, Deb is so perfect! So Lister!

Day 21: A Kryten centric Episode Krysis. Not much to say about this one. Probably one of the Dave area that made me laught the most. But I do have a question: why does no one say anything about Kryten having a Baymax cosplay??? I mean:  

Plus it makes sense, Kryten is the ultimate carer.

Jour 20 (en retard): Un épisode avec une chanson Bon, je l’ai déjà cité, mais de manière très évidente: Parallele Universe et Tongue Tied.

Day 16: The episode with the best use of the word Smeg So here I am, unleashing my Rimmer fangirling (who am I kidding? Since I resurrected this blog less than a month ago, he’s in half the posts).

I was about to make a common post for today’s and tomorrow’s entries (cause this episode sure gives me the feels) then change my mind... so finally... Thanks for the Memory.

I’m not sure yet which one I’m gonna choose as my favorite episode but it will definitively be an option. 

Two great “Smegs” here: The infamous “Once!” “Smeg!” I love the way Lister says it. And the guilty one he says when Rimmer leaves the room after realising that Lisa Yates doesn’t even knows him.

(can someone explain to me how I can share a gif in a post without reblogging it but still crediting the author when I can’t find it in the lame gifs search engine???)

Jour 16: L’épisode avec la (les) meilleure(s) utilisation(s) du mot Smeg. Bah me voilà fangirlant sans plus aucune vergogne. (Qui est-ce que je dupe? Depuis que j’ai ressuscité ce blog il y a moins d’un mois, Rimmer est dans la moitié des posts!) J’étais sur le point de faire un post commun avec l’entrée de demain (parce que définitivement cet épisode m’émeut) mais j’ai changé d’avis... et donc... enfin... Thanks for the Memory. Rimmer annonçant qu’il renoncerait à tout pour être aimé ou avoir été aimé c’est définitivement le point culminant de mon fangirling (au dessus de Terrorform). Je ne sais pas encore quel épisode je vais choisir comme étant mon préféré mais celui-ci est définitivement en lice. Et donc deux superbes Smegs dans cet épisode, les deux prononcés par Lister. Celui qu’il crache dans le quart de seconde après que Rimmer lui annonce qu’il n’a couché qu’avec une femme dans sa vie. Et celui noyé de culpabilité quand Rimmer quitte leur chambre après avoir réalisé que Lisa Yates ne l’a même pas connu. Plus de Bonus c’est gratuit:

Statis Leak. Cause Peterson!

I like how they keep mentionning him in all the show. Plus he’s both Ron’s and Rory’s dad and apart from Craig Ferguson in Confidence and Paranoia, he’s the only famous actor I recognise in the show (I know there are more of them, but they doesn’t seem to be famous outside ok UK). Edit 3 days later: how did I not thought of Timothy Spall in Back to Reality??... I still like Petersen better thought. And I like the last scene with all the versions of Lister and Rimmer even if it’s a complete mess.

Jour 15: Un épisode avec mon invité spécial préféré Statis Leak: parce que Petersen! J’adore comme ils continuent à le mentionner tout au long de la série. En plus c’est le papa de Ron et de Rory et à part Craig Ferguson dans Confidence et Paranoïa c’est le seul acteur célèbre que j’ai reconnu dans la série. (Je sais qu’il y en a d’autres mais je ne crois pas qu’ils soient célèbres en dehors du Royaume Uni.) Edit 3 jours plus tard: comment j’ai pu oublier Timothy Spall dans Back to Reality?? Bon je préfère Petersen quand même. Et puis j’aime beaucoup la dernière scènes avec toutes les versions de Lister et de Rimmer, même si elle est bordélique.
