Raye, This Music May Contain Hope
New music Wednesday
A grand, theatrical statement that pushes her far beyond the confessional soul-pop of her debut into something more cinematic and ambitious. Structured as a 17-track, four-act journey through emotional seasons, the album blends jazz, big band, orchestral reverberations and R&B into a sweeping, almost musical-theatre-like experience that feels designed to be lived in rather than casually streamed. At its best, that scale pays off—her voice moves effortlessly through shifting styles, and the record’s core message of resilience and healing gives it real emotional weight. This Music May Contain Hope stands as a bold, deeply personal work—a little messy at times, but undeniably compelling in its refusal to play small.

Reposting my first piece of this year. This is my first landscape illustration , and I've tried some different things with the colouring (which is the aspect I always feel i need to work on) with some #digital #watercolour stuff.
There's also plenty that's consistently me as well. This is based on my own photography from Tooting in London, and the graffiti is something that I'm always using. It got me thinking about how, especially in urban spaces, people leave so many signs of their having been there, that you're never really alone.
