William’s heart dipped with each descent of the craft. Its exterior boasted of the technology and craft most Earth ships had yet to catch up with. Within it was anything but; tradition and primitive ideals would hunker down in the shape of a monstrosity.
It was nearly terrifying how William’s fingers ached and lips tingled to shred the ship out of existence.
As if sensing his grandson’s wishes, Magnus’s hand touched William's wrist: a warning. William stifled a retort, aware of the façade so many would be blind to. Thomas should never have been offered to this foreign king, but the twins' behavior had seen it through.
William didn’t think he could feel any rawer anger.
Tension swelled through the crowds as the ruler of that far-off world made his appearance, wings cresting the air around his head, his body adorned with adornments befitting a king. William’s breath stumbled at how formidable Dor-Vell presented himself, flanked by a statue with hair as white as Thomas’.
Magnus approached, as was expected, and a flick of his finger demanded William to follow with his twin.
When William heisted, he felt a sharp jab at his low back from his mother.
With his pride withering and rage nearing new heights, he stepped forward, sharing a glance with Thomas that said everything he couldn’t.
