The first time phil tweeted me, he was doing one of those “RT for some emojis” things he does, and i remember i was feeling miserable, that exact day was the anniversary of the event that triggered my depression and my anxiety, i was feeling empty and sad and angry, his video made me smile so i decided to let him know “i loved it Phil, thanks for making me smile :))” and then, i got the notification. it was nothing special, just a heart, but it brightened up my day. When i first found phil’s channel, i was 15 and i was in a pretty dark place. i hated myself and i was constantly thinking negative crap, my twitter was completely filled with hatred towards myself and fear and emptiness. and phil, well, he got me out of there. slowly but surely i started loving him, his vibe, his weirdness; everything. i liked him so much i decided to make a new twitter account just so i could meet more people that liked him as well. and my life changed completely. i was pretty much suffering from at least 5 mental illnesses, some i’d rather not mention, but phil did take all of that away. i still have bad days, and i still feel like dying more often than i should but it is not, and probably will never be as bad as it was. i am now 19 and i am so grateful i found this wonderful, positive, sweet, hilarious, beautifully weird man. he makes me incredibly happy and he truly did change my life. it sounds cheesy and kind of gross and he has no idea who i am but i honestly don’t know where i’d be if i hadn’t found phil, maybe i’d be dead, the twitter account that i used to have was so depressing, it was filled with triggers and negativity. i was living an awful life. i was on pilot, going through the motions, i wasn’t eating, i wasn’t sleeping, i thought i was alone, but phil… he brought so much good stuff into my life. i’ll never be able to thank him, or repay him for showing me a different sight of life but i will never, ever forget what he did for me. Showed me that being weird and clumsy is okay, showed me that i could survive uni, that i could study something i enjoyed and actually be successful for it. my appreciation for phil cannot be put into words, all i can say is that i hope he has more happy days than bad ones because this boy deserves the world. happy birthday phil lester.
