So, I have a theory regarding the Tonitrus.
It’s stated in the weapon’s description that “for reasons untold, the hunters of Archibald’s time did not fully take to the device,” and I think I know why.
What if earlier versions (as in made before the one you find in Yahar’gul) had a tendency to shock the wielder? Now, on closer inspection, its handle is made of wood, which is obviously nonconductive. However, as any Hunter will attest, any given hunt will rapidly get extremely bloody. And as you know, blood conducts electricity. So, what if there were incidents where a Hunter got into a fight, sparked the Tonitrus, and suddenly the lightning arced down the bloodied handle and zapped them right as a Scourge Beast was about to maul them? Of course, there’s also the possibility that its comparatively low durability made it unsuitable for extended combat, but both reasons can be true.
That said, it’s also stated that Hunters did make good use of Archibald’s Bolt Paper, despite it (presumably) sharing the same issue. Perhaps it was a later invention with less voltage and therefore less risk of backfiring?
I finally, finall, FINALLY, beat Rom. TAKE THAT YOU GODDAMN SPIDER! I WRECKED YOUR THORAX WITH TONITRUS! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
However, now things have become exponentially spookier, Gilbert is now a monster, Iosefka turned out to be more of a Dr. Frankenstein than a Dr. Erskine, and my buddy Eileen got shrecked by some bird asshole in the Big Church who’s proven harder than any boss I’ve fought so far.
So, yeah. All and all, I’ve seemed to have made things worse.
When you thought the animation magic trinkets you brought were faulty and go to return them only to come back and discover your wife found out how to make them work at the cost of your should be guardgoyles now referring to you both as their parents
Bloodborne Weapons - Coexist
Been wanting to do a Bloodborne thing with Illustrator for a while, and was toying with the idea of doing some parodies of some of the more frequently seen bumper stickers out there. (I thought there’d be some “obnoxious gun nut” ones I could work BB weapons into, but none seemed to be ubiquitous enough to be recognizable for the joke.)
I made a “baby on board” one with the Infant Great One, but it came out kinda “meh” so I kept looking for more ideas. Then suddenly, “OH. OF COURSE. HOW COULD I HAVE FORGOTTEN *THAT* ONE?”
And wouldn’t you know it? All these unique weapon shapes lend themselves perfectly to being shaped like letters. Even though I had to cheat just a bit by adding cloth strips to make it work in some places.
