Alpha sat in the park of Mechcity, waiting on someone.  Looking over, he saw just who he was looking for.  The other wasn’t very tall, but he always stood out.  He waved, and he came over.

“Hey, Kirb! I haven’t seen you in a while, you ok?” Kirb gave a weak smile and sat down next to him.

“Yea... I just stayed up late, I’ve been busy with stuff, you know...” He looked up at the sky.  “So... I, uh... heard you guys really stayed in the game after it shut down. I’m surprised you never got caught.”

Alpha laughed, “Yea, I am, too.  I, well... we, ran into Zetto and Kizuna... it didn’t end well for us... I guess you were right, I shouldn’t have gone up there.  You seem to be right about a lot of things.”

“Yep, I know. I’m just good like that,” he smiled at the other, “So... uh... we cool again?”

Alpha nodded, “Yea, we’re cool.” He grinned back.  He always had a soft spot for the player.  All he wanted to do was have fun, and even though sometimes he didn’t want to brawl, it was a good excuse to let off some steam.  Kirbopher was a little more than a friend, though.  But he couldn’t tell him that... he didn’t have the guts.

Kirbopher looked back at the other, he was thankful for being able to talk to Alpha again.  He felt bad for keeping secrets from him, and even though he still hadn’t told him his secret, but that was not what he was focusing on.  He liked the fighter, a little more than just a friend, but he couldn’t tell him that.  He liked Flamegirl, and he wasn’t going to interfere with that.

They both sat quiet for a bit, then realizing they were both staring at each other, so they looked away, slight blush on their cheeks.  Kirb turned, and saw the slight reddend face on Alpha and smiled more.  Maybe he should tell him?

“Hey, um... Alpha?” The other turned to see a slightly nervous and flush Kirbopher.  Wait... did he like him, too?

“Yea, Kirb?” the swordsman was about to say something when there was a loud explosion near where they were.  The sky turned dark, and both players got up and looked around.  What in the world? Hadn’t everything been resolved?

There was static noises, as a familiar figure showed his face.  “Why... why did he...” Kirb’s eyes widened.  In a last ditch effort to survive, the Forbidden Power latched itself onto a player, a player he knew was going through hell when he logged out before the shut down.  Rockoon.

He brought out one of his bombs, “Why did he not tell me!!” He threw the bomb, and before Alpha could react, he was pushed away from the blast and rolled away.

Alpha’s ears rang as he got up slowly, not sure what had just happened.  “Kirb...?” He got to his knees, hearing sobbing nearby a tree. He walked over and saw what was happening.

Rockoon, back to his senses, was on his knees, sobbing, Kirbopher was motionless near the tree.  Alpha ran over to the other and lifted him up gently.

“Kirb! Are you ok?” Kirbopher opened his eyes, and smiled weakly.

“It’s just a scratch...” he sounded weak, and Alpha was struggling to keep a smile on his face.  “Don’t look like that... You aren’t the one that *cough* got caught in the blast and... hit the tree...”

“You’ll be ok, though... right?” Kirb smiled, nodding.

“If I can move to take off my helmet... I’ll be fine... I think.  It’s just in-game damage, nothing I haven’t felt before...”  Alpha looked to him in confusion.

“You mean when I attacked you?” Kirb chuckled and shook his head.  “Then, when?”

“It cut off my arm in game...” Alpha almost forgot to breathe.  He knew who that was, and he felt his eyes turn hot.  “I wanted to tell you... I really did... but-” He stopped as Alpha kissed him, his eyes filled with tears.

“That’s the second time you’ve saved my life...” Kirb smiled as Alpha said that.  “I wish I could help you.”

“I’ll try to log out and go to the hospital... you go help out Rodent boy over there... he’s missing the slimy guy... he needs a friend right now.” Alpha put him down and went over to the hacker.  Shortly after, Kirb logged out.

A few days later, Alpha was hanging out with Flamegirl, Nylocke, and Gamecrazed, when he noticed a small maroon colored cat with yellow eyes.  Curious, he went over to it, and the cat transformed into Kizuna.  “What is it?”

She looked up to him, and Alpha could see a sadness in her eyes.  “Your friend... Kirbopher. I’ve known him in real life for a long time.  He told me to tell you something.”  She closed her eyes. “Tell him I’m sorry... Tell him I wish him all the best... And that I’m sorry I was too late” A tear fell down her face.  “We found him in his office, trying to call for help. His spine was broken... and he was bleeding internally.  We rushed him to the hospital, but the doctors couldn’t fix him.” Alpha was in shock, watching as this usually composed player break down before him.  “He died two hours ago.  His last words were tell Alpha I love him.”

Alpha put his hands over his mouth as tears ran down his face.  He fell to his knees and wailed, crying as sadness and grief washed over him.  His friends hugged him, trying to comfort him.  “He’s gone... It’s too late... He’s gone for good... and I loved him...”

“Michael...” The spellcaster said, cautiously approaching the other. She had a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach, but she needed to know if he was ok. “Hey Michael...” A feeling of dread kept growing as she got closer. Flamey reached a hand out, but before she reached him, he turned around, and she gasped with fear.

Red eyes stared back at her, full of anger and hate. Alpha gave a low growl, causing Flamegirl to back up. “Oh god...no...” She muttered under her breath. This could have happened, not again! The possessed fighter began walking towards her, then pounced towards her figure, letting out a cry much like an animal.

Flamegirl raised her hands, letting out a barrage of searing flames. The antivirus was attached to her character model. She had used it to save Alpha before, and she would do it again. She watched as Alpha stammered back, smoke rising off his character. But when he looked back to her, his eyes were still red, color scheme still dark. He growled again, signaling his aggravation.

“Why...why didn’t it...?” She was at a lose for words. How could that not have worked? What the hell went wrong? At that moment, a whispering voice rang through her head.

She stiffened. Was that...was that the virus? What the hell did it mean?

i grew in power

This couldn’t be happening. The Forbidden Power had adapted. It had out grown the antivirus she had. There was nothing she could do to save Alpha...nothing she could to to save herself.

he’s gone

Flamey could feel herself shaking. This...this was a nightmare. Alpha growled again, before a static field formed around him. Her breath hitched as the demonized player jumped at her again. Flamey tried backing away, but it was too late. She was caught in the virus’s cloud. She struggled against it, letting out cries of pain.

Alpha kept his scarlet eyes focused on her, making sure she felt the full power of the virus. It whispered to him as he did the deed, and he was listening.

That last part echoed through his mind. Kill her...kill Flamegirl...kill Stephanie...Alpha’s eyes widened. No...no he couldn’t do that! He stepped back, the field around Flamey disappeared and she dropped to the ground. Alpha gripped his head, stumbling around.

“Get...get out of my head!” The boy shouted, his audio disoriented and glitchy. It felt like he was splitting apart. With all his willpower, he fought against the virus. Alpha let out a blood curdling, before the virus dispersed from his character. The fighter fell to his knees, utterly exhausted. He breathed heavily until he remembered...

“Stephanie!”

Alpha ran to where the girl was laying on the ground, motionless. He kneeled by her side, lifting her head off the ground.

“Hey Steph...i-it’s alright now...” He said with a weak smile. He expected her to wake up any moment now. “Stephanie...please...” His hope was fading. Tears began forming in his eyes. Alpha pulled the girl close, holding onto her character as tight as he could.

This is based off of an M!A I got a while back, where Kirbopher and Zetto became their own separate people and Kirb escaped Zetto (the real Chris) and ran into Gamecrazed, who both ended up going on a romance quest and falling in love.  Meanwhile, Zetto was trying not to lose Kizuna, one of his longest lasting friends, and figuring out he loved her.  Eventually he was given an ultimatum.  Kirbopher and Zetto would have to fight, and who ever won would keep his memories of what happened, and the other’s memories, as well as those involved, would be erased.  Zetto almost lost due to him having his arm back and not remembering all of his previous moves, so he didn’t have his breaker beam and OP metal arm, but eventually won out in the end.  But he made a promise to Kirbopher as he charged up his final attack.  Protect GC at all costs.  You can find the drabble here, which isn’t apart of Shipping Week, but this drawing is X3.  This drawing is inspired by that M!A... because it had a bunch of people crying when I did it before.
