Near the end, both characters were worn out, badly damaged, but Zetto was slightly worse with a slightly injured leg. Kirbopher charged up and spun forward as fast as he could, all Zetto could do was pull up his Ki Shield as he was hit. A few seconds later and the blade broke through, knocking Zetto backwards. He still hadn’t lost, but he had barely any power left.

The swordsman walked up next to him and lifted his sword for the finishing blow. There was a flash, and a clang.

Zetto gasped as the sword entered his chest, piercing his stomach.  Kirb stepped back, holding the sword at his side.  The lose sign popped up above Zetto, which was rare. That never happened.

The grid devolved and white surrounded them.  "You... you idiot..." Zetto's eyes were streaming with tears.  "You are going to lose your best friend!"  Kirb furrowed his brow.

"If they don't like my choices, then they really aren't my best friend, are they?  Yea, we might lose Lilly, and as much as I would hate to see that, I don't want to see Nate suffer, either."  He lifted up his sword.  "I'm sorry."

You know the rest... memories erased, but this time Nate and Chris are a thing and Chris and Lilly never happened.
