11. DID YOU HAVE FUN DOING THIS?!

Jeanne hadn't meet the man before, but he was the only one she could find in the short distance between the battle field and the town. If she had returned to town, she would have been crowded, and she couldn't bear to be near her brethren at arms since she was badly injured. The man had seen that she was badly injured and in need of someone to just keep an eye on her in case her injuries got worse.

They had managed to find a sort of cabin like hut in the forest area near the field. It had been a pain to get off the plate mail that covered most of her body, but after a while, they were able to get it off along with the chain mail that went over her regular clothing that she wore underneath.

They managed to wash the major cuts and bandage them to try and prevent infections from spreading. Very slowly, while bandaging her wounds, they opened up to each other a bit. Jeanne had learned that the man's name was Antonio and that he was from Spain. Jeanne also told him about herself a bit. About how she came from Domremy and that she had a family still there.

During the time that Antonio helped cleaned her wounds, he managed to find the bandaging she had around her chest and right shoulder. Antonio asked about and she pursed her lips, knowing that it was a very resent wound.

"I got it while trying to get back Orleans. We got the land back of course, but, I got shot with an arrow in the chest. I managed to live because I was able to pull it out in time, but the medics told me that there's going to be an ugly wound there...I still haven't removed the bandages."

Antonio nodded softly, grabbing some more bandages. "We should probably change the bandages. They looks dirty and they still have blood on them." Jeanne looked to Antonio who was already unwrapping some new bandages.

Jeanne wanted to protest, but she knew that dirty bandages were bad and could lead to worse things. She nodded, using her fingers to gently tear the bandages that covered her shoulders. She would do the bandaging around her breasts herself since she thought it would be awkward to have a man do them.

Sure enough, on the area between her was an ugly looking scar. Jeanne couldn't see it well, but Antonio reassured her that it only looked bad. "You can leave the bandages around your breasts on, nothing bad should happen to them...unless of course you got shot twice."

Jeanne shook her head. "Non monsieur, it was only the one arrow." Antonio nodded, looking at the scar on her shoulder.

"I don't think you need a new bandage on that...it seems like it won't open." Antonio slowly raised his hand, brushing a gentle finger over the scar that would remind Jeanne for the rest of her life the cost of battle. "It won't go away. Scars remain on your body forever. Both physically and emotionally."

*hides the supplies he bought for christmas present*

Toniiii~ I'm home~! Where are you?

Pants nuzzled into the white sheets of her hospital bed, her blanket tucked in under her arms. She was peaceful, as she laid there, not knowing yet what had happened. She had been in the hospital for a day now, not yet waking up.

She had been in a nasty car crash.

Two of her ribs were broken. The femur in one leg snapped in half, and had a cast on it, being raised by a sling the connected to the ceiling, keeping her foot above her heart. In the other leg, her knee shattered, and it laid cased on the pale white bed. Her left eye had gauze over it, held down with medical tape, while a tube ran across her face, keeping her breathing by blowing air in her nose. She had an IV dripping fluid into her right forearm, resting above the sheets. 

When she crashed, she was driving alone. In fact, not even speeding. Someone pulled out inn front of her, and she swerved off the road, running into not only a tree, but also the car she was trying to avoid.
