I want it to be known that when I saw Les Misérables in London on the 24th of July 2024, Tom Hext Grantaire slapped Djavan Van de Fliert Enjolras' backside during Red & Black to try and get his attention and draw him away from his conversation.

So, I paid more attention on other Les amis today because I don’t like the current Enjolras in west end. And I’m completely enamored by the relationship of Grantaire and Gavroche 💕They are so adorable and heartwarming. They kept going to each other for company (and protection). Grantaire wanted to keep Gavroche safe but he still sneaked away when R wasn’t looking 😭
I really like Tom Hext’s Grantaire. He was so drunk. Him running around the ABC cafe was adorable. He was also sad, soft and cynical. Probably the most Grantaire I’ve seen (which aren’t many…)
The E/R hug was quite different than the ones I’ve seen. It wasn’t strong and forceful, but very soft. Djava (E) is very tall, yet they managed to make it looked like Grantaire cradling Enjolras. It’s very lovely.

There's something so painful about Tom Hext Grantaire and Will Callan Marius being so puppy-like, happy and joyous throughout Red & Black and then immediately losing their happiness and dropping their smiles the moment it's announced that General Lamarque has died because they mutually realise they're about to lose the people they love more than anything.
And the way Tom's Grantaire looked at Djavan's Enjolras with such sadness? I'm never recovering from it.
Tom Hext read and understood the Brick better than anyone.
