Iâve seen a few posts about how Gavrocheâs death keeps him from becoming Montparnasse, and I get it, but something I keep thinking about is how badly Gavroche wants to be a good person, how much he tries to make do on very little. How much he distances himself from his criminal parents. How honest he strives to be. How much he wants to help out from a really young age despite the disadvantages of his birth and the fact that those are his parents, how much he wants to be useful. How much pleasure he gets out of catching a liar and being praised for his hand in justice being done there.
Oh. I think weâve seen this movie before.
