The Four Seasons ~ Sherry And 11 Other Hits ~ 1962
From the back panel ~
"4 multi talented young men are responsible for the "different sound" of the group. They are, Frankie Valli, the lead singer with the distinctively fantastic sound, Bob guardio, organist, piano, songwriter and singer. Nick Massi, bass and vocal director. And tom devito, guitarist and vocal tenor.
Sherry was written by bob guardio, the youngest member of the group. Having written "short shorts" a few years ago, it was inevitable that he come up with another novelty song. Not since the time he had written "short shorts" was he so sure that he had another smash in the making. He brought the finished song to bob crewe, independent hit record producer, and suggested that bob record the 4 seasons singing the song. One listen was all bob crewe needed to be sold on the idea. The song was recorded and released immediately. An unknown group, only a couple of months ago, today the whole music business and the public alike are talking about the different sound of the 4 seasons. "
