I don’t smoke except for when I’m missing you.
Camoshita AW17 - Pitti Uomo 91 Preview
Impeccable as always, Camoshita’s latest collection delivers once again the high standards we’ve grown accustomed to. Helmed by none other than Yasuto Kamoshita himself, the result is a very unique approach to timeless menswear staples, much like its founder’s personal take on male elegance. The use of colour and unexpected patterns are trademarks of the Japanese label, granting an exclusive twist to its looks. Be it on more formal ensembles, where plaid and paisleys shirts break the stiffness of suited attires, or more relaxed ones, where textured wool cardigans and hoodies in teal or camel portray a sophisticated aesthetic.
To top it off Kamoshita sticks to the classics, providing fresh takes on trenches, overcoats and toggle coats, through the use of bold colours and striped or plaid patterns. There’s a very particular feeling that overwhelms you when viewing the collection in the exquisitely curated stand, a sense that every garment comes together to create a perfectly coherent narrative, so much so it actually seems a voyeuristic experience into a stylish gentleman’s brilliantly curated wardrobe. Being able to convey this on a collection is most designers’ lifelong aspiration, something that for Kamoshita seems natural and effortless, no doubt a result of his genius and extensive know-how of menswear history and evolution.
Did I mention that Camoshita is virtually the only label to consistently feature earthy tones on each collection with a strong emphasis on brown, an often overlooked and despised shade for most designers? Not only that, it does it so on point that you’ll never look at brown in the same way again.

A frigid Wednesday... hopefully it will be the last time I need this coat until next winter.
Keeping warm...

I was made a godparent today. And I had a pretty good latte; the pour wasn't as elegant as it could have been (barista in training) but the flavour was great. They also had a "date bar" stocked with several varietals to accompany the Arabic coffee.
After mass, yesterday.
Getting colder… sticking to earth tones, mostly.
