To get to the first creek in the previous picture post, you have to get around Toe Head. This is a big lump of rock, that juts out of the coast line to the southwest of Glandore Harbour. I have only been around it once before, in a very light SE breeze. As the prevailing winds are from the SW, it is usually directly to windward for me. Another common wind direction is NW’. These winds usually come in after a weather front has passed through, and are strong, unstable, and gusty. This day however I had an F3 E’ behind me, and all though the tide was against me, I made steady, if a bit slow, progress around the headland. And the sun was glorious!
