I have thoughts about Needles and I need to write them down, so spoilers for tmp6!

So in his little monologue, Needles says a couple things that I can’t stop thinking about:

He’s lonely, he’s hollow, he’s trying to fill a void, and he refers to the fear as something filling, and the hurt he causes as an embrace, a cuddle.

I don’t wanna toss my hat in the ring when it comes to avatars just yet because I believe in treating TMP as it’s own separate work despite the ties to TMA but it made me think about Jon’s need to consume statements, and how the fears themselves worked.

What if the fears are too young to be fed, no conceivable “mouth” to pour the energy into? What if the avatars aren’t avatars? What if the loss of humanity leaves behind an aching, a hunger, be it for what they’ve lost or something else entirely? What if the horror, the terror, fills it up?
