From the books we know that people can escape the cycle and be turned back into a human form (still made of ink, but human presenting). If they were able to create a permanent or self-sustaining version of the cure, Noel could effectively have been sacrificed to the machine, escaped, and been restored to a human shape. It would be a very good parallel to his time in the Dreamlands.

It also provides the opportunity for angst. Two opportunities.

1. The Ink is shown to bring out people's primary emotions: courage, fear, anger, etc. What would Noel's primary emotion be? Whatever it ends up being could lead it to affect his actions when he meets Arthur.

2. If in this scenario TKIY is The Ink Demon, it provides a fun scenario now that The Ink Demon is out of the Cycle. Say Noel is still a police officer in this au and he is called to the Gent Building to investigate a report on someone breaking in (Audrey & Bendy). If Bendy changes into The Ink Demon while Noel is in the vicinity, it could lead Noel to start melting. The cure that presents him as a human again would stop working and he would start to turn back into an ink form. (Probably a Lost One. He might have been a Boris clone, but if so he wouldn't be able to remember much about his life before. As a Lost One he'd be completely insane, but he would be able to remember everything if he was turned back.)

I feel like the prison pits would be a great placeholder for the Lost Ones- being forced into a primal state to survive, but still being trapped. So it would make sense for Noel to be a part of that, and then returning to New York afterwards. Then Kayne’s “sending Noel to a mystery location” could be solved by sending him back into the Gent Building.

Speaking of Kayne, who do you think his equivalent would be? And second, how do you think the Ink Demon being fractured would affect him (and Arthur in this au)?

I have an idea for a Hadestown x Malevolent x Magnus Archives fic. Of course this would be with my preferences for ships and characters based on who I think embodies who most.

Character Breakdown:

Orpheus - Jonathan Sims

Euridice - Martin Blackwood (obviously)

Hermes - John Doe

Hades - Kayne

Persephone - Arthur Lester

The Fates - Annabelle Cane, Helen Distortion, and Lillith

It follows the plot of the musical, just with a bit of character spice. This au comes from my need to hear Arthur go, "You're early," and for Kayne to reply, "I missed ya." It also stems from a need for more angst surrounding the idea that Jon wasn't able to break Martin out of the Lonely.
