Do I wanted to submit something, so here it is! I uh.. liked the new chapter of Mechanics of a Compromise. So I did one of my favorite parts in the chapter. So yeah! Thank you for updating and being well.. there.

oh my gosh i’m super sorry for not seeing this until recently!! i also apologize if this ends up being a bit short.

i’m very glad to have an excuse to talk about this scene!! it’s pretty annoying from a character perspective because it makes you irritated at the squip, frustrated that it’s acting that way. it’s like all the progress it’s made is worthless because it suddenly reverts back to scathing insults; in my opinion, going for some of the most cutting and harsh comments possible.

but how can a computer “revert”? it seems like such a human response that its backlash is almost too natural.

imagine you’re trying a new program for something that hasn’t worked in the past; maybe you’re running to get a specific result, so you’re trying something new instead of what you’ve tried in the past. maybe your past attempts were semi-successful, but you think you can do better.

however, when you implement this new idea, things go worse than ever; it’s not just that your goal isn’t happening–the opposite of your goal is happening. the simplest retaliation is to revert to your original attempt, but maybe this time in a more aggressive form.

that’s what happened, in my opinion. “”kindness”” is suddenly producing insults and questions, which are very undesirable; so it goes back to insults, it goes further than insults. it comes up with some of the harshest, meanest things it could say, and it says them.

this was certainly a fun scene to write, so i’m glad you enjoyed it so much!! <3 though i’m sorry what came after it was a bit, ah…intense, haha!!
