You have a point that the audience would go they’re not siblings they’re gonna find out the truth eventually, but I think, the “when they will find out” will also be one of the factors for this one. Because when I read the books, and it was revealed that holy shit they’re siblings, I was not that shocked and was not also worried that they will be siblings until the end because there was really something going on behind this they’re siblings thing. What made me really excited and eager to know what will happen is the fact that I was waiting for a confirmation that they are not really siblings. The difference between the movie and the book is that the confirmation was given earlier. 

Though yes, the audience may or may not feel that much for Clary and Jace’s relationship the way we, the fans of the book, have felt for them, but I think not focusing too much on their relationship is also a smart move. It gives the director space for character development for other characters. For example, since the audience already know that Jace and Clary are siblings, they can cut off some of the moments where in Jace and clary kind of rant about how they’re siblings and the like and focus more on the development of Magnus and Alec’s relationship. We might get to see where Alec went before they meet up to go to see the Seelie Queen. There is actually endless of possibilities actually. also by bringing that info out to the open, it gives them the opportunity to be less angsty which would be good for the movie for as a movie, it has a wider demographic target so yea. Also it takes away the pre-conceived notion that this is a romantic story. The movie can focus on the journey of Clary and not the road of finding out that Jace and Clary are not siblings road, which I think if pursued the future films could get cheesy.  All i’m saying basically is, Let’s just not hate the whole movie just because of the fact that they let the audience know that they’re not siblings. :D
