Word Count-741 (Short but it’s just the introduction)
“Breakfast!” My brother Tommy shouted banging on my door. “If your not downstairs in five minutes mom will kill you,”
I opened my eyes annoyed, tossing my hand up in the air. “Don’t worry about it,” I huffed shaking my head.
“You’ve gotten a letter from your secret admirer again, aren’t you gonna answer, it’s like the millionth one,” The feeling of my brother jumping on my bed made me jolt and look up at him with a fright, he had a bright white letter in his hand.
“I don’t think so, it’s another mission and I just got back from my last one, I don’t wanna leave again,” I completed sitting up. “They’ll live without a couple letters from me, it’s not like i’d be saving anyone if I answered,”
“Fine,” Tommy said sitting down on my bed. “I’m opening it, i’m just dying to see what it is,” I smiled leaning back on my bed unistersted in the conversation.
Tony had stayed quiet for a moment looking at the letter confused “What is it?” I asked worried snatching the letter out of his hand.
“It’s just a bunch of names, you’ve never gotten something like that before,” Tommy started to say but was started when a owl crashed into the window. “I’ve got it,”

“I’ll be gone for nineteen years, I can’t do that,” I cried out tossing the letter down. “There is no way I can do that,”
“What is it?” Tommy asked holding a large packet in his hand with a letter on top. “Nineteen years,”
I stayed silent for a moment, feeling almost sick. “Working for the universe has its perks doesn’t it,” I mumbled patting infront of me so Tommy could sit down. “Just the normal day to day works you know, why don’t you open that for me?” I suggested to my younger brother who was always fascinated with what I had done for a living, keeping is mostly a secret.
I watched Tommy toss the letter towards me, ripping open the wrapping and looking at a box, I nodded my head at him, he continued opening it up.
“A time turner!” His voice was excited as he took a golden time timer out of the box. “I’ve never seen one of these before,”
“And you can have it when i’m done, I promise,” I winked grabbing the letter from my lap and opening it up.
Thank you for opening our letters, you have been assident to go back in time, living your nineteen years as yourself, not messing up.
You will save the list of people on the list you have received, you will not know how they die but when they will die. Fail and you die.
Whenever you are ready, turn your time turner back and start your mission, we will keep in contact.
“Stupid,” I mumbled crumpling the paper in my hands and looking at Tommy who was ready the list of names on my paper. “Nineteen years will be about two seconds for you,”
I knew that if I hadn’t done these things that I would die, unsure how any of this effected me I always followed the letters I was given, sometimes it was helping the neighborhood. Contacting old friends, relieving a year in the past. But something about this seems different.
“I know,” Tommy whispered wrapping his arms around me. “And you always come back alive, promise,”
“Promise,” I whispered back leaning my head on my brothers shoulder. “I always come back with something for you, this time i’ll make it something special,” I winked crawling out of my bed and rummaging around my dresser.
“I’ll miss you, even know you’ll be gone for less then a minute for me, it’s always the longest minute of my life,” Tommy said wrapping his arms around me. “Bring me back something cool,”
I kissed the top of my brothers head and let him go, smiling down at him. “I promise that I will bring you back the coolest thing I could find,” I planted a kiss on the top of his head. “See you in nineteen years,”
“See you in a minute,” Tommy chuckled letting go of me and walking to the door. “Do whatever you do, and have the time of your life,” I picked my bag up and placed the time turner of my neck. “Have fun,” My door shut and I was gone.
