a girl get a task, go to the wizarding world and save the lives of the people writing on the list she got, she knows when they'll die but unsure how, so follow the life of the shifting girl
I looked around as the light infront of me disappeared, my senses all slowly came back, my sight first. I was standing in a hallway, dressed in my clothes. Students all around started running, walking and laughing with each other. Everything felt back to normal.
“Regulas Black,” I whispered looking down at my piece of paper. “Easy peazy,” I started walking around, unsure of where I was, nothing looked like Ilvermorny here, everything had color, people had smiles on there face and were created.
“Hello,” I heard behind me, I turned around in a fright looking at a woman with a green robe and witch hat on. “And you are?” She asked looking at me.
“Jamie Grey, I was just transferred here, from Ilvermorny,” I said as my normal excuse coming back in time, technically it hadn’t been a lie, if I hadn’t dropped out of Ilvermorny in my third year.
“Well we must get you sorted then Miss Grey, come now, the ceremony is just about to begging, I will let Dumbledore know of your arrival,” The woman said with a smile. “Professor McGonagall,” She said putting her hand out.
“Where is the feast?” I asked not knowing anything of where I was.
“Mr. Black!” Professor McGonagall shimmed, I turned around and looked at the black haired boy who was walking towards us. “Excord our new student to the great hall please to be sorted,”
“I’m Sirius Black,” Sirius said with a smile on his face, I looked down at the paper in my hand, going down a couple rows and seeing his name.
“Jamie Grey,” I said smiling back at him, putting a fake face on. “Are you related to Regulas Black?” I asked.
“Yeah, he’s my profound of a git brother, you wouldn’t like him, but come on, I don’t wanna talk about him, i’ll bringing you to the great hall, i’m sure my friends would like you,” Sirius grabbed my hand and dragging me forward, I used my free hand, rolling up the parchment paper and pushing it into my pocket.
We soon got to giant doors that were pinned open, four tables sat in a row with students filling up almost every seat. We walked over to a red labeled table, causing Sirius to stop. “James my boy, i’ve made a new friend,” Sirius called out letting go of my hand.
“A friend, you don’t usual call your overnight people, friends,” A curled hair boy said.
“No, I haven’t slept with her, she’s a transfer from Ilvermorny,” Sirius said sitting down and patting down beside him.
“Lily Evans,” A gingered hair girl said sticker her hand out, I sat in between her and Sirius.
“Jamie Grey,” I smiled shaking her hand.
“Quiet down everyone!” A bearded man shouted causing everyone to quiet down. “Welcome to the nineteen seventy five hogwarts school year,” The man yelled causing cheerts.
“Year five boys,” Sirius called back high fiving two boys infront of him, one with a scar filled face and another with circle glasses.
“Nineteen seventy five,” I whispered to myself, taking the parshement out of my pocket, looking at the dates, I was four years away from anyone for me to save.
“Jamie Grey,” The woman I was talking to earlier shouted, the great all fell silent, I rolled the parchment back into my pocket and stood up, some cheers went on and others boo’d but I ignored it. “Sit down here,” She looked down at a chair that stood in the centre of the platform she stood on.
I did what she said, sitting down and sighing. A old ragged hat was placed on my head, and everyone was looking up at me.
“Very unusual this one,” The hat started to say. “On a quest, a unusual one as well,”
“Stop,” I whispered shaking my head.
“GRYFFINDOR!” cheers came from the hall, everyone was clapping. “You won’t save them all, some deserve what they’ll get,” the hat whispered before being taken off my head. I ignored the old weird thing and stood up, walking back to my place.
“So i’m Lily Evans, but you already know that,” The ginger headed girl said. “This is Marlene Mckinnon and, Alice Fortescue,” She pointed to a blonde girl and a short brunette haired girl. “Sirius Black, James Potter, Peter Pettigrew and Remus Lupin,”
“It’s nice to meet you all,” I looked back down at my parchment, seeing almost all of their names on the paper.
“What's that?” Sirius asked trying to look at the paper, I rolled it up quickly, slipping it into my pocket.
“Nothing, nothing, you all seem like pretty good friends,” I said with a smile rubbing my neck.
“Come on, i’ll show you the common room, you’ll love Hogwarts,” Sirius said standing up and grabbing my hand, once again and dragging me out of the great all.
“Hey hey hey wait,” I laughed as the two of us ran along the halls. “I just got here slow down,”
Sirius stopped making me bump into him with a laugh, a laugh that I hadn’t heard from me in a long time.
“Sorry, I like meeting new people, and your new, tell me about yourself, we can walk,” Sirius said walking up the stairs, I followed him up already out of breath.
“Well I have a brother named Tommy, i’m just turning sixteen next week, and both my parents are deadbeats so I take care of my brother by myself,” I paused shrugging my shoulders, Sirius turned around and faced me. “What about you?” I asked changing the subject from me.
Sirius turned back around and continued walking up the stairs. “I have a brother named Regulas, both my parents hate me cause I don’t believe what they believe in and I wanna live away from everyone, on the lake when i’m older,”
We stopped at a portrait, looking at a lady who was minding her own business until she saw us. “Good morning, new student,” She said with a smile, Sirius whispered something to her and the door opened infront of us.
“So this is the Gryffindor common room, it’s nothing much but it’s home for us, and i’m sure that it’ll be home for you,” I looked around the room and smiled, it was everything I had ever dreamed off, looking over a room, going to a school again, no problems.
“I love it,” I smiled turning to Sirius who was looking at me. “Thank you for showing me around,” I paused rubbing the back of my neck. “Do you know where I can get a book and quill from, I haven’t brought anything of my own,”
As I finished my sentence a owl came flying into the open doors of the common room, carrying two letters in its claws.
“That’s odd, owls never come in the common room, we only get letters in the great hall,” Sirius explained walking over to the bird and taking a look at the letters. “They’re both for you,”
I grabbed the letters, looking down, relaxing the rose symbol. “Thank you Sirius, it’s nothing,” I sat down opening the plain parchment once first.
I know you are not from this world and if you are willing for me to keep this secret, I will need to know your intentions, if you look for the gargoyles you will find me
I closed the letter up looking around the room confused. Not daring to open the second letter yet I stood up from the couch.
“What was it?” Sirius asked trying to peer at the paper in my hand but I placed the letter back in the envelope.
“Do you know where gargoyles are?” I asked nervously, not thinking of anything.
“Holy, not a day at hogwarts and dumbledore already wants to see you, must be trouble,” Sirius said playfully punching my shoulder, I let out a playful annoyed snicker. “But yes, I can take you there, come on,” I followed Sirius back out of the common room, walking down the pair of moving stairs once again.
As we walked I shot my eyes all around the school, wondering if there was anyone else here that I would know from my paper, getting way to far up from my thoughts to notice how far we had walked.
“We’re here, i’m sure you could make it back to the common room by yourself, but i’ll stick around just incase,” Sirius mumbled on, I nodded my head at him, turning my attention to the Gargoyles infront of me.
“Pumpkin Pasties?” I whispered unsure of what it would do, but as I had thought of a option, stairs started moving upwards. “Thank you Sirius, I appreciate it,” I thanked, walking forward and taking a step on the Gargoyles.
The stairs stopped in a fairly large decorated office, moving portrait looked down at me as I stepped off the stairs and onto the flat floors.
“I know what your doing here, let me see it,” The same man that announce the year in the great hall turned to face me around the corner. “The parchment,” His beard was about touching the middle of his chest with curly grey hairs sticking everywhere, his face was wrinkling, much much older then anyone I had ever seen.
“I don’t know what your talking about,” I lied rubbing the back of my neck. “I just came here from Ilvermorny, nothing more,”
“Jamie Grey, I can name every student I have met, and I sure have never heard you name, reserved a letter or heard of you, so who are you?” The man asked again.
I looked down at my pocket, pulling the rolled up parchment out of my pocket and pulling it forward, I shot my eye behind him, looking at the nameplate on his desk. “Professor Dumbledore, you have to understand that,” I paused as he took the paper out of my hand. “I work for high up people, the universe you could saw,”
I watched his expressions closely, his eyes rolling down the paper, then getting to the bottom. “I understand, you know why,” Dumbledore spoke, handing my back my parchment paper and turning to his desk. “Because I knew who you were, from the second you stepped in my school, you don’t think i’d be told of your presence?” He pulled up a letter from his desk.
“I don’t know how this is gonna work, i’ve never done anything like this before,” I explained looking around the office, spotting a red phoenix sitting on the railing off the stairs, looking down at us.
“Fawkes, that’s his name,” Dumbledore complied, standing beside me now. “Why don’t you open up your second letter when you get back to your common room,” He paused causing me to turn and look at him. “You stuff has been put in your room, I trust you to understand your quest,”
“Thank you, thank you for understanding,” No one had understood, or even be told about myself, I was a undergoing, laid back, hidden in the shadows girl, but thanks to Sirius, and the grey haired lady, everyone had known my name. I gave my final nod and walked down the stairs.
“You get expelled?” Sirius asked making me lightly smile.
“Wow, just met me and already wanna get rid of me,” I joked, the both of us started slowly making our way back to the common room.
“Sirius can we talk,” Sirius had stopped, dead in his tracks and turned around, I followed his actions looking at a curlied blacked haired boy who stood behind us. “Regulas Black,” the boy said putting his hand out, my stomach fell flat and shivers went down my spine as I shook the boys hand.
“Jamie Grey,” I smiled pulling back and looking at Sirius. “I could leave you two alone, i’m sure that I can make my way back fine,”
“No no, it’s fine Jamie, my brother and I have nothing to talk about right now, come on,” Sirius gripped my hand rather hard and walked up the stairs, I had been in way worse pain so him gripping my hand was nothing.
As we walked into the common room Sirius marched up the stairs, leaving me alone, my letter was still laying on the couch where I got it.
You will be given how you people will die, soon, but in the meantime, we’ve placed some gallons and anything you may need in your room
But best reminders that in this reality, you fail to keep your peoples from dying, and changing their fate, you’ll be able to choose or go home to your brother.
