Happy Accident, Saturday 4th April 2015
Just one asset among many but the first clip I have put together for the final piece. It just so happened that I was listening to the Christian Marclay link that I posted previously while reviewing the draft rendered footage at the same time, what emerged was a somewhat coincidental but very striking combination of video and sound. So I quickly extracted an excerpt of the audio from the Christian Marclay video and combined it with my footage as a further experimentation with my chosen media.
Thus far I’ve been improving on the technique I developed during my work on the third project, in which I wanted to create a “stop-motion”, jerky kind of effect with the video. For this project, I have adapted my technique to create an artificial “time-lapse” effect and by importing the image sequences into Adobe After Effects (which I am having to teach myself on-the-fly), I have been able to refine the process, and in doing so, stumbled upon a visual effect (quite by accident/experimentation) that I think is very complimentary to the concept.
