(Adding a Phoenix moment into this. This kinda would happen a long time after my AU)
It wasn’t the first time it’s happened..
This was the first time he ever came back here crying...
What happened you’d ask?
Well, he used to be a part of the world long ago. He was a part of a family.. He and his brothers were a set of triplets. Weird right? Who would’ve thought they’d be all boys? Anyways, he and his brothers were close as any could be... He and them were inseparable until the war happened.
Chen influenced them and others from the inside out.
He got separated from them by two of his old friends.
In the spur of the moment, a portal outside time opened and all but his arm went. His right arm severed when it closed on right on it and it took his power with it. He didn’t even register that it was gone until he heard the sound of drips. He saw red pouring out of his severed arm and had to pressure it with his other hand and scarf.
So now... he was alone and angry.
He went through timeline after timeline, going through the cycle over and over, trying to help his brothers win, losing the battle, them and his arm again and again while his timer kept running out at the last second.
It was deteriorating his spirit bit by bit.
He made it to one timeline...
One he wished he didn’t interact with this time.
It was a happy ending. His brothers were okay. They were never separated and they were so happy.
It was the first time they welcomed him with open arms, unveiled his face, caressed his cheeks and stroke his hair as if they were looking at a mirror and they just wanted to make sure everything matched.
He broke down that night and they were by his side, holding him in a warm embrace.. He completely forgot how warm their hugs were.
Next morning he felt a heavy guilt of telling them the truth pitting deep in his stomach... He had to run to the bathroom because he almost felt sick...
He wanted to hate that they cared, that they were at his side, that they were thoughtful of his feelings and needs, and staying nearby him as he did get sick and sobbed. The two kept close to him and helped him into his bed.
He decided not to go through with his original plans. There was no need to since this was a peaceful life and no one sought them out. And he most definitely wasn’t about to use his life stealing power on his own brothers. That would be unfair to them and wrong even for him.
Due to that, it was the first time he collapsed in front of them, he knocked things over, catching their attention and by the time they got to him, he was breathing shallowly on the floor.
This was the first time his timer slash soul jar had ran out on him in a shorter amount of time than what he was used to and it had to be in the comfort of his brothers’ arms.
“Phoenix... Phoenix wait!” He could hear the younger wailing. “No.. Don’t leave us. Stay awake. Please..”
“I have no choice, Acronix..”
“You told us your power works by taking time off others right? Then take some years off me. I don’t have long anyway.”
“I can’t do that to you, Krux.”
“You told us in your world we came into life together, right? So we gotta stay together then, right? Right? Phoenix.... Phoenix!”
It was the last words he heard.
Now here he was waking up back in the void alone...
He cried and screamed in heartbreak for the first time in the vast emptiness. Phoenix cried out and clenched the front of the scarf he had on.
He never should’ve got close to them.
He should’ve just faded in the background and make sure they didn’t know he existed.
They didn’t deserve to hurt so much over him.
He didn’t deserve to be in that happier life, not after doing so many terrible things.
He was disappointed, disgusted that he ever felt flawed and weak in that timeline and that he was cared for the first time in a long time, in a genuine way too.
He screams ceased to sobs and he ended up just laying there...
“How could I be so stupid?... I want to go home... I just want to go home.”
Oh, now he just sounded like a small child.
“Someone please... anyone... I just want to go home..”
He was a terrible villain who was branded a traitor to the Elemental Alliance, a great warrior with his brothers, to someone forgotten throughout all time, even though there was a good reason for it, and now he’s practically crying like a child.
“.. just let me go home...”
He was alone physically like always but...
His pendant watch popped open to show a pair of familiar faces of him and his brothers when they were young and stupid. The Time Twins plus one.. The Time Triplets.. His breath was shaky and he continued to cry while he lied there.
He never felt so alone like this before.
