#time is linear

If it fell nicely along a straight path

And did not veer from the course set.

But, also, I would not be surprised if words were not,

If they were of free and drifting will,

A melody unstuck from the fly tape

The rest of us cling to.

Words can surpass time and memory:

But every time I attempt to prove string theory, I end up with cats cradle, Jacob’s ladder, or worse.

So frustrating!
