Timbre Gets Legend...Wait for It...ary!
When we first hatched the idea for our concert finder app Timbre in mid-2012, it was about more than dreaming a minimalistic, easy-to-use display. We wanted to solve a real problem facing artists. For those more and more dependent on touring as a source of revenue, how frustrating it must be to distribute and sell music across the globe but face half-empty weeknight venues in your own backyard.
So we devised a way to foster true live music discovery: minimal filtering, incredible speed to hearing music, a ticket button front and center. And all that’s stayed the same as we’ve grown. But there’s another side of that coin.
Some of us are a bit more ‘Type A’, planners versus those just looking to get out of the house tonight. We respect that. While we still want you to dive in and hear some brand new tunes, we understand the usefulness of seeing a bit farther into the future.
With that in mind, the Timbre team has spent the last month sprucing things up for you to make finding new bands and tracking your favorites even simpler. As you spend some time in Timbre, you might notice some changes.

Between free ticket giveaways, cool shows we don’t want you to miss and shows your friends have starred, it’s getting busy in Timbre. The legend answers any questions you may have about what you’re seeing.
Easy-to-spot free tickets
We’ve given away nearly a pair of tickets a day in September and October. We don’t want you to miss your chance to score free tickets. So here’s what to be on the lookout for now:
Favorite band alerts
Timbre will kindly let you know when your favorites are returning to a nearby venue. We’ll give your iTunes Library (and Spotify playlists, if you’ve connected) a quick scan. Then, we’ll show you when one of the bands you love is coming around.
Star, star, star
 You can now star shows freely; no need to log in to Facebook. Starring is the best way to save a show, share it with friends, and receive tailored recommendations for upcoming shows. Show us what you’ve got!
