the most bewildering thing about the jonathan larson resurgence sponsored by andrew garfield, lin manuel miranda, and co. to me is that you would think the kiddos would be rediscovering rent by now, but that absolutely does not seem to be the case. i don’t know if it’s just everyone just doesn’t care about rent anymore since it’s larson’s most well known and well explored work or we’re all sick of hearing seasons of love or if everyone wants the superbia demos released or if it just lacks enough andrew garfield to matter but i want to examine whatever the fuck is going on under a microscope.

The academic year is over and I'm having vacation (at home) so I decided to draw Andrew (because I was able to go back to my Marauders mania during my free time 🥰). It's funny that I've never drawn him before because he's definitely one of the most important famous people for me. I'll never forget when I saw him for the first time (in Social Network) 11 (and half!) years ago. I was a kid, but he made a huge impression on me. Then he played Spider-Man and I was lost. Today I admire him for a whole bunch of roles, his public image and voice (I still listen to his performances from tick, tick... BOOM!). This man is literally the sun, and I am so grateful that he exists – even if I spend only a few hours a week for him during the academic year. I also remember that when I was around 16, we often watched Hacksaw Ridge at school at religion lessons – these were definitely my favorite ones 🥴 And this pic is from Under the Silver Lake (if someone asked)
As he should....
Go see tick, tick... BOOM! if not for the musical aspect, just for Andrew Garfield's performance. He is wonderful and yes. He did learn to sing and play the piano for this role.
