Rangers
The bulk of every colony is made up of Rangers. Field Colony’s numbers have been hurting for several seasons, however. With the largest territory and fewest cats to range it, everyone in the colony is aware of the lurking danger to the southeast with Captain Rainfall threatening to steal Field Colony’s South Base. No doubt to expand River Colony’s ever-growing ranks. Field Colony depends on the rotation of their hunting grounds to stay well fed, however, so no compromise can be had.
Field’s Rangers are also the most paranoid of the Unbound-lands, and the Renegade Magi who roam it. With their open fields and meadows, it’s all too easy to sneak in and steal from Field Colony, and with Captain Hazelfur and Forestleaf, pressure to protect what’s theirs runs these Rangers down.
Field Colony Ranging is all about trust and community, but the Rangers feel as though they’re the only ones who truly understand how close their Colony is teetering on the edge of destruction, but it’s easier to put your head down and get the job done than it is trying to speak up about their anxieties.

Made our way around the lake to Field Colony! I've included reference sheets that were made for Chapter Two as well.
Lots of things have changed since I drew these. The Chapter Two refs in particular are probably some of the last art I did before we made the lore switch. Take, for example, Spottedshadow's kitten name. It used to be her name was Raven, then Hazelstar changed her name to Spottedshadow. But now, she starts off with the name Shadow. Because our cats can end up with a pre-fix or a suffix added to their name, Captain Hazelfur gives Shadow the pre-fix name 'Spotted'
Thrushspots - Field Colony Ranger
Age: 12 months
Parents: Mudnose and Meadowleap
Siblings: Clayfur (littermate), Horse and Tabby
Thrushspots became a Ranger in an odd time for her colony, a time of transition and chaos. She doesn’t feel that any of this trouble is particularly her problem though, she has a bit of a nihilistic view of the world. All these odd events transpiring around Alliance territory? It doesn’t mean anything, it’s just random happenstance to Thushspots. She often takes the path of least resistance or follows the leader who isn’t going down with a sinking ship. Whatever is convenient, “It’s just business, don’t take it personally.”
Her interpersonal relationships aren’t particularly deep, the only cat that probably truly knows her is her brother, Clayfur, but he is often busy with his Keeper training nowadays. Thrushspots was trained by none other than Fernface, so she didn’t become close with her teacher, obviously. Fernface saw training a new-claw as more of an inconvenience than a privilege, so Thrush did what was asked of her, no more and no less, going above and beyond would be pointless with a teacher like Fernface.
Thrushspots will have some difficult choices to make in the future, but her dissociative tendencies will absolve her of any true responsibility in her own mind. She would say, “Difficult choices? For whom exactly?”

I'm always fascinated by mentor-new-claw matches and relationships, so I was wondering who taught Clayfur and Thrustspots
They would've been mentored by Jaggedstripe (Thrushspots) and Ambereyes (Clayfur)!
Clayfur was thrilled and Thrushspots put up with it.
