Neighbors (Hawks x Miku x Katsuki)
Chap 9. Sidechick vs Main Chick
Miku snuggled deeper against Katsukiâs chest, relishing his grumbling complaints about âidiots who didnât know how to filet a fish without shredding it to piecesâ.
Her boyfriendâs deep, raspy laughter was music to her ears as he stroked the space between her wings. Miku cooed, eyes fluttering shut contentedlyâuntil a loud knock sounded at the door.
âDonât worry about it, babe, I got it.â
Katsuki scooped up Mikuâs petite body and lay her on the couch in his place before heading to the door.
The minute his crimson eyes fell on the surprise visitor, his mood darkened.
âThe fuck are you doinâ here?â
âWell, I was here to see Miku, but now Iâm thinking I should give you the number to my public relations coach,â an amused voice replied. âYou really need to work on your manners my guy.â
At the sound of the familiar voice Miku perked up immediately, pulling herself off the couch. She joined her boyfriendâs side wearing a worried look.
He gave her a little salute. âHeyo, kid!â
âWhat are you doing here?â
âJust wanted to bring you a little something to say thanks for the dinner,â he handed her a bag of takeout. âIâm not much of a cook, but I figure this would do just as good.â
Miku peeked inside and saw the takoyaki from the same place they had ordered from when they first met. She smiled fondly.
âAww, Hawks! Thatâs so sweet.â
Katsuki cleared his throat, arms crossed and eyes narrowed. âIf thatâs allââ
âItâs actually not.â Hawks interjected, in a harsher voice than Miku was used to.
She nudged her boyfriend, leveling a chastising glare at him.
âBabe, can you just-â
âWhatever.â Katsuki grabbed the bag of food from Miku and cut his eyes at the winged man one last time before retreating into the apartment.
Miku sighed, giving Hawks an apologetic little smile.
âSorry about...â she gestured behind her.
Hawks smiled back. His jovial attitude back in place.
âItâs cool. I uh, actually just came by to say; you wonât be seeing me for a while. Iâm headed back to Fukuoka.â
âWhat?â Mikuâs wings drooped slightly at the news.
âYeah,â Hawks ruffled his hair. âIâm needed on the home front. So I wonât be back for a while. Just wanted to let you know in case you wondered why you werenât seeing me around.â
Miku pouted up at him, wings drooping a little more and Keigo felt a strong and sudden urge to wrap her up in his arms and kiss her. He gave the instinct a mental drop kick.
âWell, when will you be back in town?â
âProbably in a couple months once Iâm certain things are cool back home, but if Iâm needed sooner...â he cracked an intimate little half smile, but didnât finish.
Mikuâs face burned as her mind rewinded back to a couple weeks earlier when theyâd had âthatâ conversation over dinner.
âWell,â she spoke up, âI know you need to get back to your agency, but this place isnât gonna be nearly as fun without you around.â
âThatâs true,â the man sighed with a flippant shrug.
Miku giggled, rolling her eyes. âBut Iâm glad I got to meet you.â
âOh! Will you be at the hero charity ball this year? I know you donât always come regularly, but Iâll be performing, and it would be cool for you to see me.â
âDamn. I wouldnât wanna miss that, kid. If Iâve got the time, Iâll be there.â
Her face brightened. Keigoâs wings twitched happily. God, instincts were a pain in the ass.
âI hope you have a safe trip home, Hawks.â
âThanks, kid,â he grinned. âYou two have a good night.â
When she re-entered the apartment, Katsukiâs sour mood was practically radiating off of him.
He stared at the screen, propped up lazily against the couch cushions and deadpanned: âyou give him a little kiss night, night, Angel?â
âDonât start, Katsuki.â Miku shot back, heading for the kitchen to rustle through the bag of food.
âWhatever.â He grumbled.
Before she could reply, Mikuâs pocket buzzed with an incoming text.
From: Fat Face Fuck Bitch
What the...why the hell was Uraraka texting her?
Fat Face Fuck Bitch: Hi Miku. I know Iâm probably the last person u want to talk to, but I would rly like to get together nd talk about u know what. Plz donât tell Bakugo. If u donât wanna talk Iâll understand. If so, let me know when youâre free and where u wanna meet.
Mikuâs brows furrowed in confusion. A weird mix of befuddlement and dread formed a pit in her stomach as she re-read the text.
âYour little admirer bring enough for both of us? Or just you?â Katsuki asked, dragging Miku out of her own thoughts.
âUmm,â she pocketed her phone, âI think thereâs enough for both of us.â She replied. âIâll fix us a plate.â
With that, she tried to push the cryptic text to the back of her mind.

The rooftop of Panache Cafe was hardly discreet, but it was a safe place to frequent. It was on the very outskirts of the city and visited mainly by celebrities and the upper echelon of society.
Miku strutted towards the table where the familiar, brunette bombshell was. The woman was glancing at her phone wearing a worried frown with her silky brown hair falling in her face and her shapely legs crossed. Fuck it was annoying how fine she was.
Maybe thatâs why Katsukiâ
Miku pushed the thought away.
When Uraraka spotted the dark skinned beauty, a nervous half smile lit up her face.
âH-Hey! Glad you could make it!â
âYeah, Well, you know what they say,â Miku took a seat while her bodyguards found a table a comfortable distance away, âcuriosity killed the cat. So...â she trailed off expectantly.
Urarakaâs eyes widened, seemingly caught off guard, but she recovered quickly, clearing her throat.
âI...I just wanted to say: that I should have had the balls to talk to you about this months ago. I know itâs long overdue, but I wanted to tell you just how sorry I am.â She held Mikuâs gaze with a determined and nervous look in her eye. âWe laid down rules that night, and I agreed to them, and it does not matter how much alcohol was in my system, it doesnâtââ she paused, sorting her thoughts before continuing. âThe fact of the matter is; I disrespected you, I disrespected your relationship, and I hurt you deeply. Miku, I never wanted Katsuki like that. Yeah, I was attracted to both of you, but I was always more excited about you. I know you probably donât believe that sinceââ
âSince I walked in and realized my man had been fucking the shit out of you while I had gone to the bathroom?â
Uraraka diverted her gaze in shame, her already rosy cheeks burned an embarrassed shade of red. âYeah.â She muttered under her breath. âBut itâs the truth. And even if you donât believe that, please believe me when I say: that Iâve been sorry everyday since.â
A suspicious wriggle squirmed in Mikuâs gut as she observed the anxious brunette. âWhat brought this on, Uraraka? Did something happen?â
The womanâs wide eyed gaze snapped back up at her, and for a moment she looked like a dear caught in headlights.
âDid...Katsuki put you up to this?â
âNo!â Then in a softer voice, she parroted: âno. This was a long time coming. I should have always...Miku...â she sighed, and Miku could see her gathering herself mentally. âI was inconsiderate of your feelings. Itâs not enough to just be sorry or say sorry. I wanted to show you that Iâm sorry too.â
She slid her phone towards Miku. There was an email addressed to Katsukiâs business email.
âI put in my letter of resignation this morning.â
âYou,â Mikuâs eyes widened as she glanced between the email and back at Uraraka. âUraraka...I donât...â
âI donât expect you to accept my apology, Miku,â the woman interjected, âbut I do want you To know just how sorry I am.â
She slipped from her chair to kneel at Mikuâs feet, bowing deeply.
âIâm truly sorry, Miku.â
The winged woman was stunned silent. Unsure of what to do or say.
After a moment longer, Uraraka stood. She sat back in her seat looking tired and sullen.
Miku sighed. âTo be honest, Ochako...Iâm...kind of sorry too.â
âWha?â Uraraka looked shocked. âYou have nothing to be sorry for I was the one who-â
âNo,â Miku snapped. âNot you on your own. You were the third party in the bedroom. Yes, it was fucked up that you and Katsuki kept going while Iâeven though we had saidââ she choked on the words before switching gears. âBut, really, I directed most of my anger towards you when Katsuki is the one Iâm in a relationship with. Katsuki should have been the one honoring the boundaries we established, and he didnât.â
Dammit. She was choking again. Why did it hurt so bad? She had wanted the threesome too...right? She had been just as excited for it. So why...
Uraraka gave Miku a sympathetic look, and hesitantly reached out to touch her hand. The gesture was awkward and unsure, but gentle and sincere. Miku flinched, but didnât move away.
âBut it was easier to blame you. Easier to be mad at you than him because-â
âYou love him.â The woman said gently.
A shaky sigh escaped Miku and she blinked away the tears threatening to fall.
âMiku, itâs not my place to say this. In fact, Iâm probably the last person who should say this, but...youâre a good woman. Youâre sweet and caring and I feel like youâre the type of person who loves with all their heart, but if you arenât getting that type of love in return, then...you should leave the relationship. Itâs easier said than done, but you deserve to have peace of mind in your relationship. And I-I hope Iâm not overstepping my boundaries by saying this.â
She could only stare down at the soft, manicured hand against her own as a slew of emotions overwhelmed her. Miku hadnât even realized she had been crying until another pretty hand was dabbing her tears away with a cute pink hankie.
Uraraka wiped her face gently. A soft, sympathetic little smile resting on her face as she looked at Miku.
âI didnât mean to make you cry. Iâm sorry about that too.â
Miku shook her head. âI-I didnât mean to-I-Iâm...gosh.â She dabbed at her own eyes and giggled, awkwardly. âDamn. I didnât come here expecting to cry today.â
The brunette laughed too.
âUraraka,â Miku covered the womanâs hand with her other one. âThank you...for the apology.â She held out a hand. âTruce?â
The woman grabbed her hand and gave it a gentle shake. âTruce.â She smiled back.
A pregnant pause hung in the air as the women let the heaviness of the moment pass. Finally, Miku let out a deep, relieved sigh.
Uraraka chuckled. âWell! I would say now is a good time for a drink!â
