Today is Red
Today, fear came like a storm —
uninvited, fierce, and red.
My world began to lose its form
and I trembled as my body bled.
I whispered prayers between my tears,
Hoping this little one inside me stay
I left to Him my doubts and fears,
with a fragile plea to not take it away.
But then — His mercy broke the silence.
There’s joy when it is said “Everything’s fine”
And in that moment, heaven sighed with me,
as grace rewrote what fear designed.
Yet this day still carries quiet sorrow,
for it’s the birthday of the one I lost —
I know that in life everything’s borrowed
it still hurts though the bridges crossed.
So here I am — both scarred and shining,
cradling hope with trembling hands.
Faith may waver, hearts are mending,
but still — I trust the One who plans.
For even through the blood and breaking,
through grief and grace entwined,
I know His love is holding us —
both the one I lost,
and the one still mine.
