When I first started my practice it was all about "mastery" achieving "goals". Now my practice is so much more than that. It's not about the end result it's about showing up and seeing my practice with new eyes every day. It's become much more about having a beginners mind, about being present and aware of what is happening today. What happened yesterday and what will happen tomorrow don't matter. I can't even believe this is me. Splits and I have had a bad relationship for as long as I can remember. Since I was a little girl in dance class and other girls effortlessly moved into splits and I could not have felt more awkward, uncomfortable and betrayed by my body. Yoga has taught me it doesn't matter where you start-practice & dedicate yourself to progress & magic happens. #thoughtsfrommymat

It was Day 2 of #begratefulwithdani and today we got #sideplank I've been working super hard on this version holding one leg (I fall a lot but as @misteedeeyogini just said to me falling is a pretty big part of learning to fly) today @danipoweryoga asked us to be mindful of all the amazing humans who play a role in our lives we never think about. I love this practice 💛 thinking of people who were a part of the food I'm eating. the phone I'm using to write this. the book that organizes my life. the sticker on that book. the people who build the websites I visit. the people who made the clothes I'm wearing. Nothing we do is isolated we're all so much more connected than we think 💛 #thoughtsfrommymat

I've been thinking a lot about finding my voice. I started teaching nearly 2 years ago and I grew so much but I only felt wholly authentically myself for moments of time. But in this time I've taken off from teaching I've been trying to dig deeper into me and my practice to find my voice. I feel more and more at home in my body and it is liberating. I feel light & joyful. I'm setting a new intention on strengthening my voice. Discovering more about it and feeling more confident to speak my truth. Balance. Life is all about balance. I've been thinking a lot about it recently and I think that the most important part to keeping your balance is to be aware when you've lost it. To be aware when your even keeled temperament has turned into anger or fear. If we don't know when it's happening it's an awful lot harder to stop it from escalating.
