The idea is that the Speaker, himself a well-behaved Thin Man of the initial invasion, encounters her during her covert work and figures her out quickly. But... he doesn't say anything. Not immediately.
Because when he looks her up, he realizes she's his sister. Older than him by mere minutes.
He plays a bit of cat and mouse with her— curious what kind of person she is. After all, nobody grows up with a family under the Elders, not after a certain point in their subjugation. Finding a member of one's own family is a rarity! So he wants to figure her out. Maybe he slips her some intel here and there. Maybe he sounds the alarm mid-mission on her. His big sister's gaining quite a reputation.
All the while, he doesn't actually tell her they're related. Sometimes he drops cryptic hints, but she has work to do, she doesn't catch onto what he's trying to imply. She kinda mistakes him for a stalker with a crush, if anything.
It's not until the war is over that she finally finds out for herself that he was born out of the same clutch she was.
She does NOT have the mental stability to deal with this honestly. Her Master just died. She could have lived better in ignorance that she had a brother living the life she self-destructively wishes she had.

so somehow when i did french, my least favourite subject last year, i never ever fell asleep and yet got the lowest grade in it by far lol, but i fell asleep in like, english, biology, physics the most and yet got like the best grades in those? make it make sense idk
