You'd think I would learn my lesson! I keep insisting that I don't like cumulative stories, and then being proven completely wrong! In this latest instance, Abby Levine's "This Is The Matzah" (2005), illustrated beautifully by Paige Billin-Frye, has fast become one of my new favourite Passover read-alouds. A couple of pages of extensive information about the Passover holiday (or Pesach as it is called in Hebrew), complete with pronunciation guides, lead into a bouncily rhyming story told loosely in the classic style of This Is The House That Jack Built.
