itâs karaoke night at a local bar and 9 tired doctors stumble into the establishment. They each buy a couple drinks and soon Samira and Mel are up on the stage queuing up a song and holding their mics in one hand and their drinks in the other while their respective partners? Friends? Love interests? Sit waiting patiently.
The song comes on and patrons immediately know the song, having it being a classic party song that gets everyone into the mood. The chorus starts and Langdon and Abbot just look at each other knowingly, they both know they have to do something before the night is through.
People are dancing and singing along as Mel and Samira rock on the stage, their singing voices arenât too bad either which says a lot and itâs coming to the end of the song now and theyâre out of breath but they keep on going, never ones to back down from a challenge
Mel starts off the final verse with a giddy âGimme Gimme Gimme!â
While Samira finishes it off, staring pointedly in Abbot and Frankâs direction âA man after midnight- Take me through the darkness to the break of the dayâ And the song finishes there, the patrons clapping and cheering.
âWell what do you say Langdon? It is after midnight after all,â
âI say we give them what they want,â He responds, already getting up to go catch Mel before she stumbles to the bar for another drink

I had this tiny twd story idea on my mind a while ago. Started writing. Abandoned it. (Completely forgot my idea)
Let's see where this is going (hopefully my mind can figure out a next part!)
âHey, can I⌠can I get matches?â Magna asked quietly.
âYou should try to take it easy for a minute.â Daryl gave her a dismissive look.
âI canât. I need to do something.â She admitted.
âYou need to stop working yourself up.â Daryl threw it at her. Magna let out a sigh of frustration. Her eyes were on Daryl the whole time. How could he just sit there?
Magna started walking around the dark cave pointlessly. The emotions began getting to her core. She fucking left Yumiko after their argument. Her heart was aching.Â
Magna could not stand the imagination of Yumiko being hurt. Being hurt by her.
Trying to shake off the rattling thoughts, Magna took a deep breath.
She picked up the torch next to Daryl and illuminated one crevice after the other.Â
âHey, stop doing that. We are taking a break, and so should you.â Darylâs rough voice alone got her upset again.
âI already told you. I canât.â Magna tried to keep her composure. Daryl didnât know what was going on in her head. Hell, he didnât know her at all. Not during the apocalypse, not before.Â
âSave your energy.â He demanded, standing next to her now.
âWhat donât you understand about âI canâtâ?!â Magna gave him an intense stare. âFor fuckâs sake. Stop harassing me. Iâm trying to find a way out. If you want to stay here forever, good. Do your thing.â
Magna stomped off in a rage. Everything in her head winded up around Yumiko and her disappointed face.Â
I was doing this writing exercise, writing the saddest moment in my life. And I wrote this thing about the funeral of my mom, and the text was nice, and beautiful, and sad. But then I read the text and it hit me that the saddest moment in my life wasnât the funeral, when I had the rest of my family around me and had the chance to say goodbye.Â
The saddest moment in my life was in the middle of the night, when I got the phone call from my dad, and I knew that it was true, it was too late and that there was no way to undo it.Â
Back then I never used to have my phone by the bed at night and it was a random thing, but I thought what a coincidence that I did that night.Â
My dadâs voice was so small on the phone, and so far away, and I knew he was alone. And I was sad and worried about him, but I was angry, too. So angry.Â
Mom was too young to die, and it pissed me off. If only we had seen the signs, I thought. If only mom could have gone to the doctor when we told her to. If only dad could have pushed her harder.Â
I didnât tell him that. I didnât want to make my dad feel more guilty. He was so alone. I wasnât any better than him, anyway.
As I talked to my dad on the phone, it hit me that the last time I touched my mom was the week before, when we were on our summer visit. We always used to visit mom and dad later in the summer, and I thought what a coincidence that we visited them earlier this year. I got to see mom a week before she died.
I got to touch her a week before she died.
I had brushed her hair away from her face. We were in the kitchen. She was making us dinner, even if she wasnât feeling well. She had a cold. I told her to go to the doctor. She had no fever though, she said. It would pass.Â
And I was a little tired of this dance we had. Mom had all these pains, and she was sick, but sometimes she ignored the pain and sometimes she was dramatic about it, and it was so easy to shrug and ignore it all.Â
So I ignored it. I didnât see how sick she was and I told myself that it would pass.
If only I had seen.
I didnât know that time in the kitchen would be the last time we touched.
If only I had hugged her.
We didnât even hug when we left to drive back home, maybe because we didnât want to catch anything. But we agreed to talk more later. I sent her a text when we got home, but didnât think of it when I didnât get an answer at once.Â
If only I had called her.Â
Dad told me on the phone that mom died of pneumonia. He didnât comment that it probably happened because we didnât notice how bad it was and because she didnât want to go to the doctor. Rationally, I knew that it might not have mattered. She might have died, anyway. And still. Â
I wished that we saw.Â
I wished that we had hugged.Â
I wished that I had called.Â
Dad had to call my sister and tell her what had happened. So we hung up and my husband held me and I cried and cried and cried until morning. My tears stilled as I watched the black night become grey and sunlight seeped in through the windows. I stared at the light, knowing that I couldnât see my mom anymore, and I couldnât ignore her. I couldnât call my mom anymore, and I couldnât avoid calling her, either. I couldnât hug her, or forget to hug her. Â
So im eating lunch very slowly because the roof of my mouth is raw and I said as much and my dad said so does that mean Penta is wrestling in your mouth
