I’ve seen a lot of Eridian aus of Grace, and don’t get me wrong! I love all of them! But what I really yearn for is an angst filled one. I know the whole premise is meant to be fluff but. I crave it to not be. I want Grace to go through a horribly upsetting and tragic adjustment period to his new Eridian body. Not just mentally but physically. Having to take Earth weeks to learn how to walk, probably even longer to learn to talk. Not to mention having to get over the vertigo of ‘seeing’ while knowing you have no eyes.
Even after he gets the hang of his new body, he has to come to terms that he’ll never see color agian. He’ll never smell agian. He’ll never be able to have a nice meal in front of someone without a nagging feeling in his stomach that says it’s bad, he’s vulnerable and should hide. He’ll never be able to wake up slowly from a nap and bask in that half-asleep state for a while. (Because from what I’ve heard Eridian sleeping is like going under anesthesia. You’re awake one moment then suddenly like 8 hours have passed)
Even if he did want it in the start, (which let’s be real, he’s a scientist, an oddball at that, of course he did.) by the end do you think he regrets it? Does he miss the sensitive, squishiness of his human skin?
And he falls down a nasty nasty depression pit. Figures that Eridians would that, too. Maybe it’s just something every conscious species do.
But, almost too slowly, he learns that there’s things to love on Erid, too. Of course there’s the obvious, he can touch Rocky and Adrian now. But more than that, he’s adapted to Erid. He almost forgot how big the world can be outside of his biodome. He can see the cities now. He can see the culture up close. Depending on how Erids education system works, maybe he can even get himself a proper classroom! He doesn’t have to die hundreds of years before Rocky. He revels in the fact he won’t be forced to leave him so early.
Of course there would always be things to miss. Just like how he missed earth back in the biodome. Maybe in the end he regrets his decision more than he thought he would. Or maybe it’s so much better than he thought.
Stratt becoming so guilty she starts getting visual disturbances that consist of grace watching her, dressed in the yellow jacket
If we are talking and you stop talking to me out of nowhere. Die a horrible death. Then I’ll find you in your next life, sweet talk your dumb ass into owning you.. torture tf out of you and throw you away broken and unusable for any other man.
My dad: *to my brother who has chocolate sauce all over his face* Hey, go take a bath, icecream-face!
Me: Yea, go wash your face, face-faCE!!
