the historical accuracy i’m attempting on this fic that three people read goes beyond diligent and into compulsive territory.
#this includes:#not having Paracelsus offer laudanum as a soporific EVEN THOUGH he’s historically credited w inventing an early version of laudanum#that’s said to have included opium#because i found a compelling academic article making the case for his laudanum just being the well-known ladanum resin#and that when he used opium he referred to it as such#and it was probably his followers after his death who claimed that his laudanum was an opium tincture
