oh but first holy cripes i can't believe i missed this
and who would believe it would have really happen, someone would ever like me enough to be officially ~together~ for six months now. i.. i know i don't always give you the attention you really deserve, and i'm certainly not the smartest pick out of all the dozens of people vying for your affections. but.
i'm so happy to have you. and to be with you; just keep that in mind. october fourth. you're the best thing in my life, my favourite person in the world. i love you, matt. six months later and i'm still deeply, foolishly, head-over-heels in love with you.

yeah well you’re always gonna have idiots and assholes, i’m afraid. reminds me of my first brush with proper feminism, was convinced they were all hateful and disgusting. nah cis just means you’re not trans more or less, nothing wrong with being cis
thirtyandfour replied to your post: shadouchan replied to your post: Maybe I’m...
just means that you have a certain kinda privilege and accept it? and sometimes trans people might get pissy about cis people but. that’s just sort of . shit happens yeah
Eeeee thanks for all the clarification! \o/
It just rubs me the wrong way a little. I mean, I myself made the decision that I wasn't ever going to get married (if it was, in fact, a man in my life) in part because I hate the idea not everyone who wants to get married can get married and like Sarah Silverman said: "I am appalled by anyone who would get married in this day and age. Anyone who considers themselves "for equal rights"...to get married right now seems very odd to me. It's like if you joined a country club in the sixties where no blacks or Jews were allowed. Why would you wanna join that country club?"
But that example: it's something I can actively help. You can chose not to get married because you don't agree with the current state of it. But I'm confused about what a cisgendered person can do to not accept their privileges...? Because that's something that's socially passive. So. :c I can understand the aggravation if every single cisperson were completely ignorant and intolerant but that's. not the case.

I never thought it really mattered… I don’t have any gender norms concerning my gender but I still like female pronouns being used with me. It’s only complex because people think into it too deeply.
I like female pronouns too, being referred to and seen as a girl (unless I'm in cosplay), but I don't identify with "classic" female gender rolls at all so #shrug. One of the many reasons why I have a tough time in relationships. You're right, it probably doesn't matter, but I had to start wondering about it when I see people rag on "cisgendered" people all the time and I was like
but what if I'm cisgendered? D:
thirtyandfour replied to your post: Maybe I’m confused but by the definition of...
it shouldn’t be being used as an insult. a moment maybe of ‘fuckin cis people,’ yeah, but that’s more a privilege issue than an insult. cisgender just means you identify as the gender you were assigned more or less
That's what I thought it meant! I've seen some really terrible things said about cisgendered people and that's what me wonder about this at all. I can think of a few examples but I really don't want to single anyone out. It was to the point where I thought "cisgender" was synonymous with being an enemy of the LGBT community. So I looked up the definition again to make sure and--it just seems like something that people shouldn't be generalizing so harshly. I can get the privilege thing yeah, but...
