Today i had a chit-chat with my friends. One boy, one girl.
I was going to read on a bench in front of my class--since the place is quite, so i chose that spot. Not long after, there are two friends who also got out from class. I cancelled my reading session because one of them ask me something.
At the beginning, it was a small talk, with light topic, laughter, all the words that came up on our head, we just say it. Until i say something that it may be related to something they donāt like.
They respond my saying with a negative responses, much of negative responses. From one negative thing, to another, and they began completing each otherās words, while iām listening to them.
The vibe still fulled with cheers for them, because they always add laughter after their negative sayings, especially when one of them agree with one anotherās opinion. Meanwhile the vibe was really uncomforting and full of hatred for me. So i remain quite, not knowing what to say, either to support their opinions. It was a relieved when the school bell rang and they go to home.
Iām still thinking about our chat until now. How can a person hateĀ āsomethingā so much? I mean, you can feel that you donāt like something, but is it neccessary to put so much hate-talk, hate-opinions, hate-sayings to something you donāt like? Because perhaps what you hate from others/something is actually something you really want to have but itās difficult for you to have that. Or even, that something you hate is actually a part of yourself that you donāt even know that it existed in a deep part of yourself.
Iāll tell you a glimpse of our chat.
I really remember how my friend say that he doesnāt like most of our local YouTuber, he said that local YouTuber does not have creative contents, does not have good contents, and other negative comments. He said that he prefer overseas YouTuber that canĀ āopen his mindā.
āOrang bule mending, ngeliat dia main game aja kayaknya seru gitu. Kalo orang Indo mah...ā
āOrang bule mending, konten ga terlalu bagus tapi ada muka yang bisa bikin orang tertarik. Lah orang Indo, konten gak menarik, muka juga gak menarik, apa yang mau dijual?ā
I also remember how my friend say that one of our public figureās daughter use her parentās money to get to Oxford University. I said (since she is quite active in YouTube),Ā āI donāt know. Perhaps she also get money from her YouTube video.ā And my friend, she responds (with underestimating tone),Ā āHow much does she get from YouTube? That must be cheap.ā So i said,Ā āBut she got silver play button.ā And still with underestimating tone she responds,Ā āWhat? Only silver? An U.S YouTuber can get that for granted. Itās nothing.ā Because i also quite active on YouTube, i said,Ā āStill, itās hard to get even a hundred subscribers.ā And she began hate-talking while i donāt know what to say anymore.
āYaelah berapa sih yang didapet dari YouTube?ā
āCuma Silver Play Button mah orang bule baru jadi YouTuber juga bisa langsung dapet kali.ā
I just want to say guys, if you really want to āopen your mindā, then try to accept everything and try to appreciate it. You never know what itāll become because youāre not the doer.
JUST STOP HATE COMMENTS, IT IRRITATES MY EAR!
*And addition, i think itās always uneasy to get our goals. There must be so many obstacles to get through. Even if you live in U.S, you can not instantly be a YouTuber and get a million subscribers in a week. Everybody must taste the fierce fight so they can be satisfied of what they have fought when they finally win.
