Do you think Alistair ever had Dean torture John after he pulled him off the rack? Do you think John looked at his son and didn't believe it. Saying "you can't trick me. I know you're just some demon."
And Dean never corrected him.

the difference between ananas and pitaya makes me wonder what the other dragons will be like. but i'm thinking...pitaya will probably be the odd one out. they genuinely like cookies, and like yeah they're condescending about it and kind of an asshole, but what would you expect from a dragon? they still LIKE cookies, and they're very playful! compared to ananas' more serious demeanor, anyway.
pitaya also doesn't look down on cookies as much as ananas. this is better seen in the korean version of the game, because when they call off the mock-fight with the guild run gang, they admit that they're outmatched. a prideful dragon, willingly admitting that a bunch of cookies could kick their ass. that's unusual! pitaya sees cookies as equals, and is friendly to them in a way that ananas finds shameful. and like, pitaya is also pretty eager to help cookies and grant them wishes?
and depending on what we assume their history with fire spirit is, that's even more insight into their character. was fire spirit a normal cookie, on the brink of death? did pitaya save his life? to a dragon, a cookie must be nothing more than an insect. pitaya would have to be an extraordinarily empathetic dragon in that case, to be moved enough to a save a mere bug's life.
and see, i don't think fire spirit stole the dragon's bead, because pitaya isn't bothered at all that he HAS it. they mostly seem irritated because fire spirit's annoying and boastful and doesn't shut the fuck up. fire spirit seems like he's just doing whatever he wants, so i don't think it was any kind of deal like, "i'll save your life if you serve me." i really think pitaya chose to save fire spirit's life, because they see the lives of cookies as valuable and worthwhile.
i just find it really interesting that by dragon standards, pitaya's a huge softie. they enjoy the company of cookies and like to play with them. (not necessarily their fault cookies are more fragile than dragons and their defintion of "play" is borderline dangerous for the average cookie :/) when mala asks them to help her village, they're moved by how humble her request is, and they grow to respect her even more for it, whereas ananas would likely call such a request foolish and weak.
and i have to wonder, if the standard for dragonkind is ananas, and the other dragons ignore and disdain cookies, why is pitaya SO different? what happened to shape their attitude and personality so? i simply am just
