I’ve been following you for a while now and scrolling back through your blog rekindle exactly why I followed you in the first place.  There’s so much variety in all the different gifs and the dramas and all of them somehow seem to perfectly line up with my interests.  I always find myself stopping to look and read your posts and your tags, whether it’s on my dash or directly on your blog.  I can always depend on you for great takes and ideas and dinner details that I might have missed. Your gif’s have grown so much too and I can’t wait to see them grow further.  This network wouldn’t be the same without your content here! ↳ favorite works: [ 1, 2, 3 ]

When dramaintherain™ came to be it was not my intention to get into gif-making and if you check out my early archived posts I was just focused on posting screen captures and really ignoring how tumblr basically ruined the quality of everything I posted by resizing it.

Prior to getting into k-drama giffing I had some experience with primarily old Hollywood movies (some gifsets are still flying about but I no longer remember the blog’s name) and it’s something I remember having fun doing.

One thing led to another, and I ended up - on top of posting screen captures - also trying out gifs. What really catapulted me was the ending of tumblr’s archaic gif size limits, and essentially taking close to two years to realise I could be posting something neater if I set the width to 540xp.

What I enjoy about gif-making is how thrilling it is to assemble something that is ultimately very personal as you spend quite a bit of time changing details here and there to shape it into something you feel good just looking at it but also the communal, public aspect of putting these animated images out there so you can find and engage with others who enjoy the same experience as you.

It’s a very gratifying experience despite how much tumblr’s arbitrary changes try to transform that into living hell.
